Looking at everyone's cloud pics. Same here in AZ but also red. Can't explain why but our clouds were so red earlier this evening that even outside had a weird red tint at sunset. It was creepy.

‘Extinct’ Costa Rican volcano being re-examined for activity, volcano dormant for 3,500 years:

COSTA RICA – The Costa Rica News (TCRN) – Volcanologists of the National Seismological Network (RSN) have begun early research on the Chato volcano, located southeast of Poas volcano, to find out information such as its last eruption. RSN volcanologist, Gino Gonzalez, said that measurements of the temperature of the lagoon taken by sonar instrumentation, determining that the surface of the lake is about 19°C and approximately 6 meters deeper the temperature of the lagoon varies drastically. “It’s a volcano which very little is known about its historical activity, so we have seismic stations for periodic sampling and we are starting a campaign to closely monitor it every six months,” Gonzalez said.

Chato is considered an extinct volcano according to the authorities who made the first sampling to verify the behavior and activity. According to volcanologist at greater depths there is an increase in the amount of dissolved oxygen in the lake, which could be due to a strong photosynthetic activity, consistent with high turbidity or gas accumulation at deeper levels. The maximum depth of the lake is around 18 meters, averaging 15 meters. Chato Volcano last erupted 3,500 years ago.

This broke on the news when sheets of rain were pouring down and then ka-bam, huge thunder. That kinda freaked me out, lol.

These are now beginning to bug me. This isn't a fracking area that I can find. They are too far from the Pearson Mesa fault. I just don't know what is going on there.

Believe it or not i went to go recycle some cans near a Safeway and as I walk in to cash the receit i recycle the garbage bag and say hello to an old man sitting at the lil seating area outside. Don't remember his initial response, I think he was shocked, I noticed his eye vision looked nearing blindness. I knew he could feel my warmth and friendliness. I started walking away because I figured he'd want some peace without a guy in his face. As I'm walking into Safeway, he says, it smells like earthquake weather.


I do live in Cali so if any old blind man knows what that smells like... He'd be it right? Guess well find out soon.

Spectacular ‘Supermoon’ Visible in the Sky Overnight

The moon will seem a little bit bigger and brighter Saturday morning when a “supermoon” — the first of an expected three this summer — will be visible, according to NASA.

The occurrence, also called a “perigee moon,” takes place when the moon becomes full at the point of orbit when it’s closet to earth, making the moon “seem extra big and bright,” NASA reported on its website.

The supermoon will be visible all weekend, but will be at its fullest point at 4:25 a.m. local time on Saturday, according to The Farmer’s Almanac.

What are your thoughts on that? Personally I just don't buy it. But that's just my own inside feeling. So I am curious what others think.

Edit: Not that I don't buy it being something that could happen...I just don't believe this was an aftershock from the 2011 quake.

yes at one point it was quite red and I took it on my phone which doesn't have the best camera, it was eerie and beautiful at the same time

No, I'm in Gilbert AZ, too far away. But I had a wicked headache all day...but I've also been really pissed off reading the news today so I admit it could totally be related to that.

To be honest I don't know. I swear every day I think about going out there and pulling weeds and taking a look to see if those darn ants are still there. But it's been both hot and humid (usually just hot) so it's pretty miserable out. I keep saying I'll do it 'tomorrow'...well now the weeds are about knee high! My bad!
