Geomagnetic Storm Watch Issued
A geomagnetic storm watch has been issued by the NOAA Space Weather Prediction Center. A faint and slow moving CME observed on August 15th is expected to possibly deliver a glancing blow to our geomagnetic field by late Tuesday. While the impact is not expected to be significant, sky watchers at high latitude should still remain alert for visual aurora during the nights ahead. In contrast, there is also the possibility that the plasma cloud will miss Earth, or be too weak to stir up much in the way of activity.
