Hi friends, been lurking but quite busy, getting into ham radio :) visiting my dad in Georgia again - then it's back to WA, with a HF radio station of my own. I have had a blast in the past week - talked to a Russian Antarctic station, a Marine mobile(boat), and a air mobile (a 737 pilot answered my calls, was like !!!!)

I'm here. Haven't felt well today, so lots of rest and thank you Gomez for texting me!!! Trying to catch up on all the Ebola news.

People, if you do not have 6 months supplies now, please please get them. Forget about everything else, and focus on that one thing before there are more outbreaks and people start panicking. Right now the CDC is only in "panic proofing" with what info they are releasing. Get your preps in order.

35,000 walrus come ashore in northwest Alaska

In this aerial photo taken on Sept. 23, 2014 and released by NOAA, some 1500 walrus are gather on the northwest coast of Alaska. Pacific walrus looking for places to rest in the absence of sea ice are coming to shore in record numbers, according to NOAA.

ANCHORAGE, Alaska — Pacific walrus that can't find sea ice for resting in Arctic waters are coming ashore in record numbers on a beach in northwest Alaska.
An estimated 35,000 walrus were photographed Saturday about 5 miles north of Point Lay, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
Point Lay is an Inupiat Eskimo village 300 miles southwest of Barrow and 700 miles northwest of Anchorage.
The enormous gathering was spotted during NOAA's annual arctic marine mammal aerial survey, spokeswoman Julie Speegle said by email. The survey is conducted with the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, the agency that oversees offshore lease sales.

The World Wildlife Fund said walrus have also been gathering in large groups on the Russian side of the Chukchi Sea.
"It's another remarkable sign of the dramatic environmental conditions changing as the result of sea ice loss," said Margaret Williams, managing director of the group's Arctic program, by phone from Washington, D.C. "The walruses are telling us what the polar bears have told us and what many indigenous people have told us in the high Arctic, and that is that the Arctic environment is changing extremely rapidly and it is time for the rest of the world to take notice and also to take action to address the root causes of climate change."
This summer, the sea ice's annual low point was the sixth smallest since satellite monitoring began in 1979.

I notice no one ever talks about volcanic activity affecting sea temperatures. It's always "climate change". There's more evidence in favor of increased carbon dioxide, than against. rant
 Quoting: bigD111

I've thought many times that undersea volcanoes contribute greatly to increased ocean temps. Which in turn leads to more evaporation, that leads to increased amounts and power of storms. It also affects wind currents, which changes jet streams that also alters storms, cold fronts, areas of drought and increased moisture. Add to that the increase in other chemicals spewed into the ocean, leading to die off of many species, also many contribute to algae growth that depletes oxygen, also killing species off.

In addition the above ground volcanoes spew exponentially more gases/chemicals into the atmosphere, that further affects wind patterns, greenhouse effect, leading to further evaporation, which may be offset by ash spewing into the atmosphere that blocks sunlight thus reducing temperatures and energy reaching the ground. This stunts plant growth, causes shifts in weather patterns, etc.

The added chemicals in the air also contribute to birds dying en masse as they cannot breath at higher elevations. It causes respiratory issues in all other land creatures, including humans. Thus reducing immune systems which allows otherwise minor bacteria and virus to proliferate and create a cascading or snow balling effect.

BUT lets keep on blaming our miniscule amount of CO2, we as humans, contribute to the atmosphere, that really only serves to cause additional plant growth and to a very small extent offsets the above factors.

Eventually the planet will balance itself, the volcanoes will be a big contributor and we will be thrust back into a global ice age. This will happen no matter how many carbon credits any one buys or hybrids we start driving. Whether it happens in the next decade or millenia remains to be seen.

Okay, I stop now...you've now seen a glimpse of my thought process...isn't it fun being inside my head!?

and the fact that it had already been here.

a question was asked in the press conference, is this the first US case of ebola ? The stated response was "yes, THIS ebola". Meaning ebola-zaire that the Dallas guy tested positive for. It's likely the other type that so many have been watching in Liberia and west Africa is already here too and under wraps.

It is not yet time to let the sheeple know. In the coming days you will read about how well they handled everything and an all clear will be given. The American confidence needs to be boosted and morale maintained until it can no longer be contained.

The big one already hit. 2nd week of Oct. would be the first wave from the patient zero.
