Not many responded, so I stopped adding things to that thread. The times are getting interesting if you ask me. Way too many coincidences, almost eery....

Meh...it is what it is. I'm not going to worry about what I cannot control, which is nothing when you really think about the big picture. I will remain aware though. I will not be caught by surprise. I am trying my hardest to make sure it will not be as though a thief came in the night.

That's okay, I am here to hopefully steer those battle zones away from the innocent's. I will be one of those that will run full speed into it...knowing full well that my end will be soon. We Marines are a special breed, as I've been told, and have a tendency to do things such as that.

I refuse to hide, and will not run away. I refuse to live in fear. Granted, I will use intelligence and not make rash decisions when possible, but at some point you have to make your stand knowing your end, on this plane, is nigh.

Allow me to throw a little "poll-style" question at you. Now, I know this will likely generate an answer different from most with you being a man and a Marine, but let's just say you had a trip planned for this weekend to Dallas...as of right now, with so little known about who this confirmed, diagnosed Ebola patient had contact with in that area (after showing/having physical symptoms), would you take the risk for something you did not need to take the risk for? To put yourself right inside Dallas with all of the unknowns....in just less than 3 fulls days from now? Honestly....

I understand taking a stand, fighting, etc.... but would you willingly and blindly (at this point we don't know who this person had been in contact with, and who those people were in contact with, and those people and so on) go to that area if you did not absolutely HAVE to???

Have to break it to my sister tomorrow my niece was in Dallas for work last week flew down and had to visit all the area hospitals! Begged her to reschedule had a bad feeling but I'm just the 'crazy' Auntie...(who's crazy now?)

I will answer that Simple: No.

For those who have to be there, they know the area and know what areas to stay out of. I wouldn't have a clue where "Liberians" hang out, and wouldn't even likely go to those areas in the first place, but a person who lives there would know this. They wouldn't stumble into a possibly infected area, where you and I would. Thus, I would not go there.

A business trip would likely be safe. 100% safe, no but at least 95% safe at this point in time. Why? Who ever he might have infected isn't likely to be showing symptoms yet. Though we have know of cases that "seemed" to have spread the infection why the patient was not showing symptoms, usually and mostly it is only spread by symptomatic individuals.

Another point, we already have race issues in the country. Just imagine how much worse it will become when we look at a black person and wonder if they are from West Africa????

I would be wearing gloves and a mask in an airport and to hell with what anyone thought of me. This includes shopping. If you really don't want to look like a freak, wear outer gloves, then throw them way. A mask, say you have horrible allergies. Who cares what others think, you won't likely ever see them again in your life.

I would go. Here's my reason's why.

First of all, whether I die peacefully in my sleep, in a horrific motorcycle crash, by a crazed person or a virus makes no difference. I am dead regardless and I firmly believe when a person's number is up, their number is up. Period.

Second, if you altered your life whenever there was doom on the horizon you would never leave your house, or your bed for that matter. You cannot constantly live in fear of what may be. If it is my time to go, so be it. This existence is only temporary and I'd rather be having fun that cowering in fear when I do go.

Third, I do not wholeheartedly believe anything, and I mean ABSOLUTELY anything spouted by MSM or on the magical boxes we are using now, unless I see it with my eyes and hear with my ears, and even then I can only take it with a grain of salt. Everything we see manipulates our perspective, good or bad, and how we perceive things as they are.

Lastly, I understand how contagious disease can and will spread and can take precautions to prevent infecting myself without donning PPE. Carry hand sanitizer and use it whenever you have touch something many other people touch. Avoid touching when you can, by use of gloves, dry paper towels or don't touch at all and do NOT touch your face until you sanitized your hands, no matter how much it itches.

As an example, and this will sound gross to some people, but I worked in a building with hundreds of people and rarely got sick. When I used the restroom, I didn't wash my hands using the sinks in bathroom and I never touched the light switches with my hands (used elbow when needed). I opened the bathroom door with a paper towel. When I got back to my desk, I used sanitizer to clean my hands. The toilets and paper towel dispenser were hands free, so that helped, but when the towel dispenser is not, grab only the paper towel rather than touch the button, and use that paper towel to flush and open doors. It's not the toilet seat that's 'dirty.' It's the flush handle, sink faucet, door handle and light switch that are 'dirty.'

Sorry, fully realize the question was directed at someone else but I feel absolutely compelled to answer. So in advance I ask forgiveness. No!!! Hell NO!!! It has already spread. Even on the plane ride over it was spread before he was symptomatic. We have seen proof of that on the Ebola 2014 thread (story of the 7 year old boy with no symptoms but infected everyone before he became symptomatic!) so fuck the CDC trying to tell us otherwise. Not even to mention all the poor people who have unwillingly had contact with Dallas patient and/or shared contagious surface contact since he landed. Yes those surfaces are still contaminated! Everyone on here knows things scare me sometimes but I always pray for no doom. I have been absent from this thread because this is the first time I see a potential for actual doom and I am terrified. I have no doubt two of these strains were released on purpose. I also fully believe it is airborne. ( and there are studies to back up my belief). I have been preparing accordingly and I hope you are all doing the same. Dallas is a hot zone! At all costs stay away.

I hear you Sol. And you have some valid points I agree with. We should not live in fear and I don't think we are anywhere near to needing to SIP. But I shall respectfully disagree with you about Dallas. I see it as Russian Roulette right now. Safer to go visit anywhere but there.
