To know where your heart is, look where your mind goes when it wanders.

A rock in bad hands killed Abel. A rock in good hands killed Goliath. It isn't about the rock.

A true warrior fights not because he hates the one in front of him, but because he loves those behind him.

Meanwhile in Alaska... little by little the truth comes to light...

Alaska National Guard condoned ‘weapons smuggling, rape, and drug trafficking’

Several leaked documents show that the Alaska National Guard's leadership supported a culture of sexual assault, theft and smuggling. The released reports coincide with the state's contentious gubernatorial election.

The May 3 Army Regulation 15-6 (AR) report obtained by The Anchorage Press alleges that Lt. Col. Joseph Lawendowski, who joined the Alaska National Guard (ANG) in 2003, promoted steroid use by recruiters, used government vehicles for strip club outings, and possibly used government-issued credit cards for improper purchases when he led the command from 2008-2009. He also created a workplace environment where three male officers – Jarret Carson, John Nieves and Shannon Tallent – repeatedly violated regulations by having consensual sex with women while working.

The papers show that Lawendowski, the leader of the ANG Recruiting and Retention command at the time, created a climate of fear and intimidation. They also reveal that he and a command sergeant allowed three officers to carry out sexual assaults, retaliate against soldiers who filed complaints, and generally feel above the law, the AR report says.

The three came to be known as the “Three Headed Monster” because of their large sizes – all over six feet tall and over 250 pounds – and intimidating behavior. Nieves is alleged to have raped the 19-year-old sister of a solider he had recruited into the guard, threatening to ruin the soldier’s career if she didn’t have sex with him. Tallent bragged of having sex with high school students, and possibly raping several women.

“MSG Nieves, MSG Carson and SFC Tallent used their rank and large statures to abuse their authority and threaten their subordinates,” according the investigators in the report. “These three recruiters were seemingly untouchable and attempts to report their misconduct were either ignored or resulted in negative repercussions for the recruiter reporting the misconduct.”

Biological Hazard in USA on Friday, 17 October, 2014 at 04:39 (04:39 AM) UTC.
Description
A 6-year-old Arizona boy's death is the latest suspected casualty of a virus that's sickened nearly 700 others in 46 U.S. states and is responsible for the deaths of at least two children. Starting Tuesday, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) began using a new yes/no check test, which will allow them to process four to five times more specimens per day than it had been. The CDC has been seeing about 30 new enterovirus D68 cases per day, but it expects the number to jump to 90 or more a day with the enhanced test. The latest suspected death of enterovirus is that of a 6-year-old boy in a Phoenix, Arizona suburb was confirmed Wednesday. Health officials said that the boy had a severe respiratory illness that had worsened over the weekend. His test results will be available in a week. The virus is the suspected cause for at least six other deaths, but only confirmed for two. Meanwhile, hundreds of parents at the boy's 1,100-student school are reportedly pulling their children out of class as a precaution. "Parents have a lot of questions. Unfortunately, we don't have a diagnosis to tell them right now," said Erin Dunsey, a spokeswoman for the Peoria Unified School District. The school has disinfected the classrooms, wiping desks and other surface areas. Teachers are also urging hand washing, a practice that experts have encouraged all parents to enforce among their children to avoid infection. Enterovirus D68 is just one strain of 100 known non-polio enteroviruses in the world, according to Fox News contributor Dr. Marc Siegel, a practicing internist. Enteroviruses cause upwards of 15 million infections annually, ranging from the common cold to meningitis. They are harbored in the GI tract, and symptoms vary depending on the strain. Researchers first identified enterovirus D68, the current enterovirus strain, in California in the 1960s. Since then, a small number of cases have been reported each year, but many likely have gone unreported as doctors don't regularly test for the virus. Experts aren't sure why this wave of enterovirus D68 has been more pronounced than in previous years. Health officials first took notice of this year's wave in August, when hospitals in Kansas City and Chicago saw severe breathing illnesses in kids in numbers they never see at that time of year.

What a circus...

#Ebola Scare: Man dies on trans-Atlantic flight after vomiting

A male passenger who died after vomiting on a trans-Atlantic flight from Nigeria to New York sparked panic he could be carrying the Ebola virus. However, initial tests on the 63 year-old man show that he is not carrying the virus.

The man had boarded a flight at Lagos airport in Nigeria, which was bound for New York’s John F. Kennedy airport. However, once airborne, the man complained of vomiting during the flight and was sick in his seat. The 63 year-old died sometime before the plane landed at JFK, leaving around 150 passengers worried as to why he had passed away.

Upon the plane arriving at the terminal at around 6am local time, the door was left open connecting the plane to the airport building, “which a lot of the first responders found alarming,” the source added, which was reported by the New York Post. Medical officials at the scene conducted a cursory exam and alleviated fears that the Ebola virus was present, according to a local police source.

However, Republican Congressman, Peter King was so alarmed at lack of scrutiny within the airport for dealing with a potential Ebola case, he wrote a letter to the Federal Department of Homeland Security, demanding that airport officials should receive better training and there should be much tougher protocols in place for dealing with possible cases of the virus.

King added that personnel from the Center for Disease Control (CDC) went onto the plane after it had landed to examine the body of the passenger, however, he called the whole process “alarming.”

but wait...there's more
