Yeah, we had to chain up the semi's to get out of the valley! This is a fierce cold spell for so early, especially since it had been in the 50's and 60's prior! I am starting to acclimate though! Unfortunately, it is reminding me of last winter, which was a real cold brute!

I am being reminded of last winter too.

I was already a bit acclimated, in September, I was on a motorcycle run, tent camping down by Dillon. The temps were in the single digits in the morning and never went above 45. When you ride a motorcycle at 70+ in 45 degree, or lower, weather, the feels like temp has to be close to 25 or 30 degrees. Granted that's warmer than what we have right now, but it did start the acclimation process. I do have to say though, shooting the canyon at 9 PM at night between here and Helena with clear skies is beautiful on the bike. Were it not for the 40 degree temps, and playing frogger with deer it would have been even better.

Oh yeah, don't you just love coming up on a deer at 75 mph! Amazing how you go through cold and warm pockets of air when you are on a bike! Wait until you are my age and the cold makes you stiff!!! Grrr!

Oh yes, deer can be fun. Just happy I can stop that bike much faster than my truck. When I see them in time....

Yes, you notice every cold and warm pocket, and when in town, you smell what people are cooking or smoking.
