deanoZXT User ID: 64897616 United States 11/26/2014 07:09 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | This time of year in the Pacific Northwest, specifically if you live around Seattle or Tacoma areas. Basically anywhere West of Mt. Rainier, but still close enough to see the mountain in the distance. If the conditions are just right and you get up early enough, for about 10-15 minutes, you can witness something truly majestic. The shadow of a volcano in the sky. Honestly I don't know what is going on, there's all kinds of physics behind it. Too much for me to understand. Unfortunately my pic is kind of hazy because I was inside and used my phone. But I didn't have time to get my camera and run outside and whatnot, didn't know how long it would last. Little did I know, a friend of mine that happens to lives about 2 miles from me, in downtown Tacoma. Took a picture, around the same time. It helps that she was six stories up. She had the foresight to open her window and stick the camera out of it. I was trying to share the fact that this time of the year, when the conditions are just right, you can see the shadow in the sky. -Everything's more awesome when you lean into it. |
