All that snow and ice age stuff. I moved to Mass in 91 and lived in Boston initially - then to western Mass. I left in 96 - but my god the weather there has gotten so bad, it just seems to increasingly bad for them and I think its only going to get worse!

I have no idea what will happen when it all melts! Its going to be crazy and hectic and dangerous when it all melts too - ! Roads are gonna give out and rivers swell, etc. etc. and that region of the USA has some older infrastructure also . . .

I'm in Florida now.
I cringe when I watch the weather . . .

My hours are so messed up right now, there isn't much hope for getting it straightened out unless I just stay awake for 24 hours, lol.

If it warms gradually over weeks, everything should be ok. The ground will have time to absorb and drain normally. There might be some damage due to antiquated systems but hopefully it wouldn't be widespread.

But if there is a sudden warm spell that causes it all to melt quickly and it stays warm, that's when things go really bad.

It's all cyclic. Remember those pictures you saw in your history books with Washington and Valley Forge and the frozen Potomac? The Thames frozen? They were all during Grand Solar Minimums, so was the "Little Ice Age".

There are many things all coming together to point to hard times coming. Cold weather = famine. Irish Potato Famine. Stock up.

I hear ya! I keep trying to get back to daytime hours and somehow I always end up right back where I started.

Guess G-d wants me on the night shift..somebody's got to do it...lol

When I was working as a dispatcher and even as an EMT at hospital, I always took the night shift. Hated the day shift as I never wanted to get up at 5am BEFORE the sun even rose.

Feel better Angel. I woke up with a migraine today too. So far, aspirin is barely taking the edge off. Must be the crash from all that energy flowing yesterday.

Oh I know - I am sort of fascinated with Pioneer History - there is a book, its very good but a bit morbid. Its called the Children's Blizzard - about a basically winter hurricane/tornado that hit the Dakota's and children froze to death walking home from school - so these events are not new, or cycles. I just learned something watching an episode of The West, about there being a summer so full of meters the Indians were not able to sleep in their tents due to all flashing light at night - they viewed it as portent to the change in their world as the white man was starting to migrate into their lands.

I can imagine - I thought about how it would be to literally live on the land like that and truly feel its ebbs and flows. We have been talking here a bit about our sensitivities - can you imagine if we were in touch, closely in touch, sleeping in tents in touch with our environment?

Yah know - I think I will eat some Chinese food today! :-)

Driving is SO dangerous because of the HUGE snow banks everywhere. Roofs collapsing all over the place. Just a nightmare. : (
