river overflow destroying city heavy rains caused the river to overflow destroying part of Chañaral city (Atacama Desert) in Chile, until now there are 20 pleople dead and hundreds missing, there are reports of bodys coming from the cementery, chemical contamination because the copper mines [liveleak] [ link to www.liveleak.com] [ link to www.liveleak.com] Looks like a damn tsunami to me! Quoting: Simple27 This was so sad to me. Horrifying in fact. It obviously hit a train some where along the way as there were tankers being tossed around in that water like they were toys. Saw a large farm tractor which I don't understand as this is a very dry desert, unless it was washed down from the mountains which are also dry. Saw what I swear was a train engine. Tell ya one thing, no way in the world I would have been standing that close to that angry river of debris like those people were. Yes, they finally ran but sure took them a long time. Flash floods are notorious for forking. They could have found themselves in the middle of an island with no where to run. So freakin sad Quoting: WhiteAngel I was thinking the same thing! Quoting: Simple27 We see stupid people doing stupid things all the time. Makes me wonder if people have a brain between their ears or a complete lack of self preservation. I would have been running like a little girl afraid of a clown from that water!!!!!
