NO Thread, There are tons of tards here will criticize and offend you!

My only advice is whatever plan you start, I think losing more than 4 pounds per week is unhealthy, what is usually attained is 2 pounds per week. So you must low your expectations to not become frustrated in long term.

You say you can't even exercise because of fatigue, but exercising + diet it is almost 90% of the methods you would find out there.

Interval exercise training use less time than usual training and keep the burning several hours after perform it. And you can apply "interval training mode" to any kind of exercise.

In simple terms Interval Training is all about varying the intensity/speed of the movement abruptly. For example: pace walking 10 minutes followed by 1 minute intense run (or as hard as you can, or hold) follow by 5 minutes of paced walk again, then 2 minutes of intense run. IN this case 18 minutes will be more productive in term of burning than it you would do a 36 min pace walk.

Interval training. Research about it, it may help.

I know me. In the past I have lost a little weight and then it wasn't coming off, got discouraged and just quit. Slow isn't an option, at least not for the first 40 lbs. Most people that are very obese can lose much quicker than someone who only needs to lose 30-40 lbs total.

If I am honest and I will be because I am sick of hiding it: I am 5 foot and 3/4 of an inch tall. I have a small frame. I should weight between 90 and 110 lbs. Because I am over 50 years of age, I am shooting for 115 lbs and I know this is a good weight goal for me.

Now for the honesty.....gulp......yes, I am using humor to hide behind.....I weight 240 lbs!!!!!!!

So many factors go into physical weight. Do not freak out about the number of pounds your scale tells you. Fine, you may believe you are overweight. Maybe you are (by what/who's standards I'm not really sure).

I'll tell ya what. And this may come out creepy and honestly, I don't even care. Because I am saying this for a friend. For YOU.

I apologize to all men on this thread in advance (although I know all men will understand and agree with me).

I do NOT find a a naked man attractive. Sorry. The whole male situation isn't something I look at and think "oh that looks nice." A hanging ball bag and shriveled up penis. Sorry...when not aroused...a naked male does NOTHING for me. Zip, zilch, zero. Never has.

Ummm...and more often than not did nothing for me when fully aroused.

Back on track. Man or woman...clothed or not...IN MY OPINION (just MY opinion) looks far better with some skin on their bones than someone who looks like they've been a kidnap victim, starving to death.

I personally like a healthy looking person. Not a fat slob, but not someone I would break if I gave them a hug.

Sorry...rare form...but always honest.

I have been what I consider my ideal weight twice in my life. HS senior and in my late 20's. I weighed 110 to 115 and yes, I know I was a little hottie. I wasn't skinny, had a little extra on my compared to the "what you should weigh charts" but it was perfect for me. Hour glass figure with an 18 to 20 inch waist. I wore an 27-29" Wrangler jean with a 29 inseam that was the right length with my boots on and too long in sandals, lol Remember, I am short. Size 6 petite dress was perfect.

Skinny to me is unhealthy - though there are people that skinny is perfect for them and they even have trouble being close to normal weight.

Sexiest man for me is in full western outfit - think rodeo for you none western folks - and ohhhhh lala!!!

When I was in my early 20s, I shared a loft apt with a couple people. The building was straight out of like 1972. I'm sure it was built then.

I told you that, so this would make sense. The big bathroom had half of one wall mirrored and a big jacuzzi tub in the corner. It was big enough for like 3 people. But it was still a bathtub, just huge. There was like a 5 foot round mirror above it. Then on the other wall was a huge sink area with yet half the wall mirrored. With a light fixture on both sides, with like 8 bulbs in each one. It was so bring in that bathroom, it was like HD.

Now I filled you all in to set this up.

I was drawing a bath one night, and caught a look at myself in the mirror, and saw my self from behind, in the mirror across the room. I was outside the tub bending over. Reaching into the tub for a shampoo bottle that fell in.

As I caught the awful glimpse of myself, from behind. I was startled and slipped a bit. Kinda of did a dance trying to catch my self. Before finally falling in. I saw myself from behind in a few positions no one should ever have to see.

I was horrified! It was like two small bats fighting over a gardener snake, hanging between two white tree trunks.

I didn't even want to touch myself for like a week.

I suppose this would be great news for most. Back before my daughter had her cheering competition in Disney World (in December) we held many fundraisers. I know a rather wealthy man in the area. He's good friends with my parents and often needs "favors" from my job (which I always personally take of for him since he's a family friend). So naturally I have no problem hitting him up when a donation is needed for my daughter's cheering team.

He donated 4 Red Sox baseball tickets for opening week. It was used as a fundraiser item. We all sold tickets prior to our trip to Florida for the competition and the money raised went towards the cost of airline tickets for the girls on the team.

I get into the office yesterday and have a voicemail from this man who made the donation. He said he had 4 tickets sitting in his office with a note on them with my name and to call him back. No one ever claimed the tickets! The shady ass league probably never even announced who won to the winner...clearly.

Soooo....he mailed the 4 tickets to me. I have them in hand now.

God Sweetheart this just breaks my heart. I don't want you to do this out in open forum just yet. Too many not nice out there. Start here, we will support group you. Once you have some progress you can put it "out there" - but this is a huge step in itself, just this - right here.

If you detox and treat for candida(yeast in your body) you will have a better platform to fight the urge for carbs. Also I am not kidding - get one of those lights they used for Seasonal depression because light change or lack of light can make your brain crave carbs. Get a good check up, make sure its not your thyroid. Get prepared in your mind like you are going on an expedition - and then begin - one day at a time honey, one day at a time. Huge massive Hugs for you!!!

You can pm me anytime for moral support! I mean that. Just making a public statement like this is a huge first step!!! I am so proud of you that you pushed right on through this.

It gives me courage too - to address some of my own fears that keep me from living a more complete life. I've only gotten more reclusive with each year home after deployment. That energy can become a monster that consumes you. So sign me up to be a battle buddy with you and lets get out of our caves!
 Quoting: Little bird

How does one treat the candida. Detox will partially be a cup of hot water in the morning with the juice of half a lemon. Then an hour later a cup of hot green tea, 1/2 teaspoon of turmeric and a little stevia for sweetening. I might do more later with garlic juice, but this is hard on my gut so have to be careful.
 Quoting: WhiteAngel

Yes be careful, go slow. A health food store can help you with this. They have boxed kits. Its important to really bring sugar consumption down and it hides in everything. I eat very little sugar because it contributes to my pain complex. It was like getting off cocaine getting off.

I do not recommend the Atkins diet for the long haul but it can help a person get off carbs and let go - after you go through the initial shock of it when you eat normal again you notice taste so much more and you will find lowered cravings.

Not eating sugar will also kill off that candida that wants to feast off the carbs. Sugar is potatoes, bread, all those things. I am sorry if I insult you with what you already know sometimes I lose track of things people say here and I don't know if you already know all this stuff or not.

Cleansing can cause Herx so go very slow - and remember you can start again every hour of every day, so if you have a bad day, that's ok just start again tomorrow.

 Quoting: WhiteAngel

I am 5'2 and when I was in the service and weighed 125 I was told I looked to thin - so - depending on your frame and body type your goal might be too low, I really think it is. I knew my way around the gym at one time and talked weight and body type a lot. I think this is really too low.

You first goal is to MOVE. Muscle will burn more fat.
Get some small hand weights, like 3lbs OK. Go on youtube where you can find many workout videos. Just learn to move both sides of your body using these small weights. You can do a lot of things. A good rebounder would be my next suggestion to you for movement. It gets your blood circulating. If you can afford to buy a good one you can move/bounce softly on it. They are surprisingly hard.

Get a little egg timer and get on it for 5 minutes of MOVEMENT as many times a day as you can work up too.
And do small routines with the hand weights.

This does not have to be aggressive and grueling - just repetitive. Walking, is really the best there is. Go early or later at twilight if you have to.

What might be stopping you from "working out" is the concept it has to be this grueling experience. This is about moving honey, its about staying flexible as you age and making a lifestyle change so you can stay around a while.

Tardy to the party tonight. Water valve blew out on the water heater so I had the joy of fixing that after dinner.

Angel, wish I could help you ! I have the opposite problem and have had no luck in gaining weight since I was 16. 31 years of failure, but I keep trying. As much of a researcher as you are, I am sure you have a method and have this under control. Do NOT let fear get in your way. Failure is not an option and you can do this. Decide and consider it done. Then just do it. Eat different food and at different times to break the old habits. I am always here for you if you need anything.
