Simple here is an example with my son. He is a BIG kid, taller than I am already - not quite puberty but any freaking minute its going to blast off.

He is getting pimples now. I kept telling him you have to wash your face. And I bought him some products, I assumed he would just used them. Finally he says to me, well how do you wash your face I mean I know how in the shower but it doesn't seem to be working.

I was floored I mean I just assumed he knew how to wash his freaking face, but you know what - it dawned on me he didn't really. So I bought out the cotton balls, the sea breeze the zit cream, and now they even have like baby wipes for the face. So we troop into the bathroom and I show him how to take care of his skin. I got him one of those little baskets to sit on the counter full of what he needs. Its things like this over and over -
"where is the road map mom?" -

(GOD HELP ME WHEN HE NEEDS TO SHAVE HIS FACE)bwhahaha
At least you do have a girl, there are different challenges with raising a male child. I try and be aware, but I still miss things - its inevitable. ;-)

Amazing how simple it seems and then out of the blue it dawns on you, they really don't know anything. They can seem so smart, so grown up and so independent and yet they are still just kids. I like the way you put that Cathy. It fits so well.

Good luck with the shaving lesson. I never got one and was scared to death of disposable razors. Finally had a girlfriend show me it was no big deal and how to do it when I was 19. Very embarrassing.
