OKLAHOMA CITIES OFFICIALLY DISALLOWED FROM BANNING FRACKING

Oklahoma state legislators passed a bill that bans local governments from banning oil and gas drilling in their city limits. Oklahoma has become the second state to ban fracking bans.

Oklahoma should tread carefully. According to Environment and Energy News, Oklahoma had 580 earthquakes that registered over 3 on the Richter scale in 2014. That’s nearly a 500 percent increase from 2013.

A report in Geophysical Research Letters has tied the rise in tremors to hydraulic fracking. The dangers of fracking to communities are also well documented. In California, a neighborhood was threatened and many had to evacuate when toxic gasses, the byproducts of fracking, started causing headaches, nausea, and flammable tap water.

New food video I put together.

I'm hungry again, even after pork chops a couple hours ago. My next door neighbor is grilling steaks. The smoke is actually wafting in through the side window. I can't see, but it smells like NY Strip and maybe hotdogs.

Oklahoma on pace to easily break state record for earthquakes

Oklahoma is on pace for nearly 1,000 earthquakes of magnitude 3.0 or greater in 2015, a total that would nearly double the state’s previous record.

In just five months, Oklahoma has recorded a total of 378 earthquakes of at least a 3.0 magnitude. That total is only slightly fewer than were totaled in all of 2014, when the Sooner state faced a record 584 earthquakes of at least that magnitude.

According to the Oklahoma Geological survey, 941 earthquakes magnitude 3.0 or greater are projected to occur by the end of 2015.
