What's happened to people to make them so full of hate and ego that they can't even carry on a decent conversation anymore without profanity and ridicule?

I've been here since the beginning, before user ID'S, and I thought I was being nice.

I'm so grateful for the people on this thread. We've laughed and cried together through alot over the years. It's like a tiny lifeline in a world full of bile.

I'm biting my tongue. I was raised in a military family, lived all across the country and overseas. What I don't like is someone that lives in another country putting down our heritage.

I never get drunk, but I can be influenced by substance..

I'm Jewish. I was born here in America. I don't eat pork or shellfish. They are offensive FOR ME, for many reasons.

But I don't go around demanding that every grocer pull all products that contain it from their shelves.

I don't demand that every tv station pull it's commercials for it.

I don't call for boycotts of restaurants that carry them on their menus.

I don't protest and send petitions to congress to have every pig farmer or shellfish fisherman be tried as criminals guilty of hate speech for having them.

I don't condemn those who partake of any of it. It's their right to live their own lives just as I live my own.

I simply don't bring it into MY OWN HOUSE.

I don't push others to live as I do. If someone asks me, I will tell them why it is wrong FOR ME. But neither do I fan the flames of hate of those who presume to tell me that I WILL tolerate it in my own home and LIKE it.

I simply don't give them that kind of emotional control over me.

I am the sole captain of my own emotions.

I am a captain..
or I used to be, due to ear/vibration probs...not y more...

but I cant seem to shake the attitude, of what I truly believe....


go figure...
