Earthquake Thread ~ Always Updated

Are all the ones in Alaska standard for the area or is it something to be keeping an eye on?

These are not normal and have only started up like this over the past day or so.

Same location as the 8.3 that caused a tsunmai and quite a bit of damage in Hawaii in 1957.

Does ANYONE have ANY idea IF we can access the seismicity just PRIOR to this and the 1946 Quake in the same general area? I've been going through ever link and even my apps that have historic info-I can't find any referral to seismicity in the areas prior to these "mega thrusts". I DO seem to remember Dutch showing prior activity to large historic quakes in Aussie/New Zealand-so it MUST be somewhere, I just can't find it & it's frustrating, lol!!

HAHAHA!!! LOVE IT!! Unfortunately, after 30+ years in the deep South, (I'm originally from South Weymouth ;) ); I'm a transplanted Tallahassee Lassie, now living in the Poconos. I DO still occasionally talk with a childhood friend from Mass, I'll send this to her...like some others, it personifies her perfectly.

You guys notice the DEPTHS too? I've been watching quakes for quite awhile; and I just don't remember another time with THIS MANY 4-5.7?, in such a concentrated area, in such a short time period, with fairly close depths-yes, I know that big one was more shallow, but look at the majority of the others.

This is NOT "normal". With so many things going on right now, I'm afraid to speculate what this could really be-because it's certainly NOT a "normal" swarm...
