IKR! The Fed says anybody with more than 8 days rations is a terrorist and FEMA is telling everybody to stock up food and water for 30 days.

The part that got me was 'solar flashlights' and 'blankets'. Why specifically say 'SOLAR'??

And why tell them to have that much if this is just a preparedness drill?

Awful gut-dropping moment just now. Deeper than I've felt yet. Shit is really about to hit the fan.

We knew it was coming. It's just so weird because of the different 'doom' scenarios over the years where nothing happened. Although many of us would be prepared for whichever scenario it was at any given time (or not because we knew it was BS at whichever specific time), it's just real now. The realest it's ever been. In so many different areas of 'doom.'

I am far from perfect or anything close to it, but I hope my heart is known by those who really matter. Most importantly the big guy upstairs.

I don't lie, I don't cheat, I don't try to intentionally hurt others, I try to help other when/if I can, I am compassionate and I am forgiving.

I have ugly sides though, too.

Besides, I see a devaluation coming for the US dollar. Food you buy now will be cheap a year from now!

Yeah. We know that.

The sign specifies certain items and to have them all by Sept 15th.

Why by a certain date if it goes all month long and the National Preparathon Day isn't until the 30th?

No worries here. Stock or otherwise.

The 15th is the only think on that sign that gave me pause.

I know. It is odd for the middle of the month.

You know what I have for lighting? You know those yard lights you can buy that are cheap and yes, they are solar powered. Picked up a few AFTER Christmas when it was 50-75% off for all decorations.

Ramble away sweetie. We're right there with you. Maybe not in body, but in Spirit.

Yep. I have a whole bunch of em. And I have crank lanterns and radios.

Just an all around creepy dread feeling. Too much going on. Especially with GM's odd little threads the last couple of days.

I haven't wanted to post about just how deep this dread of mine goes but yeah, I am right there with you on this.

Heat to Peak From DC to Boston After Labor Day

"Summer is going to dig its heels in across the Northeast for much of the week," stated AccuWeather Meteorologist Brian Thompson, "as it will feel more like late July or early August rather than September."

The same area of high pressure that allowed the holiday weekend to start on a mostly dry and comfortable note will shift offshore, opening the door for heat and humidity to build through the first part of this week.

The temperature departure from normal will be so great in some places that record highs will be challenged. This includes in Boston; Providence, Rhode Island; New York City and Albany, New York; and Baltimore.

Residents with outdoor plans are urged to drink plenty of water, wear light clothing and avoid strenuous activities during the hottest times of the day (the midday and afternoon hours) to prevent suffering from heat exhaustion or stroke. This includes sports players who typically do not have to deal with such summerlike conditions in early September.

We're lucky. Our mid 90's heat streak ends Wednesday. Rain moves in Tuesday and the temps are expected to fall into the mid to high 70's during the day through the following week.

It's going to be miserable here. Those temps plus humidity. My poor daughter goes back to school this week in it. No air conditioning there.
