Simple27 (OP) User ID: 69659907 United States 09/22/2015 08:36 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Sorry about not getting back after asking about the cruise to the Caribbeans, life happened.... Quoting: WhiteAngel Father-in-law wants to take the family on a cruise during Spring Break or just after school is out. I swore I would never ever get on one of those things but if this goes forward, well, I can't be the buzz-kill for everyone else. Since like Simple, I have this fear of the ocean (though I want to see the beach - it is on the bucket list), a cruise hasn't been something I ever put much thought into. Haven't been on a plane since before 911, but the kiddos both have always wanted to get on one, this would be a trip of "white-knuckles" for me!!! Really just wondered what the cruise would be like in general. The most I know about it is "The Love Boat", like someone else mentioned, lots of lots of people squished together in a small area and lots of lots of sickness Lol, I find it funny that we're both Pisces yet we both have a fear of the ocean. Everyone that I know personally who have been on a cruise absolutely loved it. If that helps at all. : ) ~*Ride the Wave*~ |

Maybe have him check out some "all inclusives" on a tropical beach somewhere. That way DRINKS are included in the price too at least, something cruise ships don't do because they live on the money from drinks. |

If the costs of drinks aren't an issue, then maybe it would depend upon the cruise, I guess. |

I am sure we will drink a little, it just isn't a big deal and going non-alcoholic would be just fine also. I am with you, would rather have leisure time, on beaches, going from one island to another. I am a land locked gal. Never seen the Gulf or any ocean. White sands, blue waters, sea shells and some colorful tropical birds and I would leave happy. Start off with the metal tube and 200 of your not closest friends screaming through the air and end up in a bucket with 10 times as many of them ? No thanks. But then you take the family into consideration. I wouldn't want to deprive them of the adventure either. My family and I have taken some pretty risky chances in the past. Always stuck together and pulled through everything. We have been so "normal" for the last few years the kids were asking last night if we could just sell everything and go some where else. Destination unimportant, we need another adventure. I'll warn you that once you start doing things it becomes addictive and normal life will bore you to death. Good luck with your choices, sounds like a hard one for you to make. |

We have been so far out that the first sign of knowing that we were approaching land was the sudden appearance of bugs. I've never been on a cruise ship and probably would not appreciate it although others we know have loved the experience, but I've been wind jamming in the Caribbean. |

There are already 550 replies and counting. The replies are going up in magnitude, this is the unusual part of the topic. Not the quantity of replies.
