Joaquin will have to cross considerably colder water to get to Europe.... will it make it?

40N lat on the map above is at the bottom of the squiggly yellowish area where Joaquin is now and where it will likely track until it hits cold blue water on map. This I believe is the gulf stream current (yellow squiggly).

It's that time of year. Took my daughter in today (doesn't matter that she is now an adult, lol, still needs mommy), and she has a bad sinus and gastrointestinal infections. Hope she keeps those germs to herself.

I hope she feels better soon. It certainly is that time of year. Heck, I still want my mom when I get sick. Actually my mom came with me to my appointment yesterday haha!

My daughter is in rough shape. Temp went up to 101.8 even after taking extra strength Tylenol. My mother (don't know what I would do without her) took her to the doctor and she has strep. Her doctor said it's the worst case of strep she has ever seen in someone my daughter's age. : (

She must be a tough little cookie because she was not complaining the way she should have been. My mom took a pic of her throat while they were at the appointment and sent it to me. My jaw dropped! Bright, bright red all over.

This came on very quickly. I feel so bad for her. : (

Mid Latitude Coronal Hole / Storm Watch (UPDATED)
A Moderate (G2) geomagnetic storm watch was added for later this week. A middle latitude coronal hole is moving into a geoeffective position and an expected solar wind stream flowing from this zone could reach Earth by October 7th. Sky watchers at higher latitudes should be alert for visual aurora displays beginning Wednesday. Stay tuned to SolarHam.com for the latest information.

Solar wind set to spark impressive auroras Wednesday night

Back on September 12, the solar wind set off a brilliant display of the aurora borealis that was seen in many regions across Canada. Now, that same streamer of the solar wind is expected to sweep past Earth again, on Wednesday night and Thursday, and NOAA's Space Weather Prediction Center is forecasting another geomagnetic storm because of it.
