Hey WA, seems the the sun is still firing once it hits that west corner, how long has it been now, 3 to 4 years of this anomaly going on. It started in 2012, fires on the limbs but not when earth facing. Oh we had some good ones in 2011-2012 but the majority even then were on the limbs. So weird when it would fire an X-flare on the east limb, go very quiet and then fire another X-flare when it hit the west limb. This happened before the Maunder and Dalton grand minimums began. It was noticed during the solar cycle just before those happened. We talked about it for awhile over on Ninz solar thread, with most of us agreeing this could be a 'tell' that the coming solar minimum will indeed be a Grand Solar Minimum again.
