I make these Smashed Potatoes for my husband. Use either small red potatoes or small Idaho golden nuggets. Do not peel them. Boil them in water until their jackets just start cracking open. Drain but do not peel, then add either buttermilk or heavy cream, butter, a pound of bacon fried and crushed, some chopped green onion, some chopped garlic, then when you have that all together, smash the potatoes until they just start to crumble and everything is all mixed thoroughly. Salt and pepper to taste.

This is my hubby's favorite side dish.
