Oddball off topic question but does anybody know the risks/health dangers of soy?
I can't eat nuts because they're a migraine trigger for me and I LOVE peanut butter. I found this stuff called Wowbutter at the market the other day and it's made from roasted soy. The best part is that it tastes EXACTLY like peanut butter but with just an oh so slightly different texture...a little more grainy.
I just don't want to feed a craving but kill my insides at the same time.
Quoting: JazzyG I'm all plant-based, so I've definitely looked into this a little bit here and there and have found that the risk with too much soy is with eating processed soy products. If you eat processed soy foods, there may be a more heightened risk for disease. Processed soy products would be soy sausages and things that mimic meat, etc. I've also found that the Amer. Inst. for Cancer Research said that women can eat up to two or three servings of soy foods daily. Any more and you could run a higher risk for breast cancer. Quoting: Vegainzzz Thanks Vegaz! I love pb but not enough to be eating the Wowbutter every day, so I guess it's safe. Woohoo! Happy dance!
