Then a video from downtown Tacoma. You can see how close Mt. Rainer is to the city. Even closer then Seattle. It's about 60 miles from Tacoma. Driving distance, so I'd assume, as the Crow flies is even closer. It's directly east from the city. Seattle is much more north west and 100 miles from the Mt. Rainer.

So if Mt. Rainer does blow. Don't bother worrying about me. Just have a calming thought. Becuse I'll be gone, along with the other couple hundred thousand people.


Media and Discovery Channel shows always talk about Seattle. But I'm pretty sure and it's local knowledge, Tacoma would be pretty much gone. Geologists know that past Lahars have gone right down the Puyallup river valley and emptied in Commencement Bay/Port of Tacoma. That's the tide flats in the below video. Where all the buildings are. Then you see the big grey dome building. That's the Tacoma dome. If a concert was going on at the time, that'd be about 10,000 people gone right there. Iron Maiden is playing April 11th. If anyone want's to buy me a ticket. Tickets stat at $63 and go up to $983 for the floor.

Hahaha! I thought you said "I'm going mooning tonight!" My eyes playing tricks.....

All is well on the calving scene. Over a dozen since yesterday afternoon. We are having great results.

I think a 7.0 or greater will follow somewhere very soon. Probably today.

One thing about waking up at 5:30 in the morning, one gets to see some of the most spectacular sunrises. My sky is all pink and orange just before the snow moves in later today! Just amazing!
