...I'll take an earthquake any day, to a tornado or the storms that happen east of the Rockies.....Life long California resident here. Quoting: joinca I'm with you! Quoting: Simple27 A tornado does a relatively small path of damage. Depending on the quake, that could be 100's of miles of total and complete devastation. A tornado will destroy one side of the street while the other is gone. A quake doesn't do that. Everything is damaged or destroyed. Of course I am talking a huge quake and not anything under 7 mag. That said, I lived in Texas when the town of Jarrell was leveled by a tornado, it was a F5 and it was horrific. Quoting: WhiteAngel I lived through this (by the grace of G-d), so I might disagree with ya a little on that. [ link to en.wikipedia.org (secure)] Quoting: JazzyG Dang that was a bad one. I remember it because that was the same year we ended up with a weird tornado outbreak in Phoenix which just doesn't happen much, very rare. Yes there was a major path of destruction, I did say relatively, lol.
