Large quake just east of Aniakchak volcano, which is actually fking gigantic. Currently dormant, last eruption in 1931--produced Alaska's 2nd largest volcanic eruption in recorded history. Obviously the shaking was felt there, and could stir this one up enough to wake--link will take you to the volcanoes info page, which also has seismos for you to check out.

Earth's magnetic fields are holding up nicely as solar flaring is minimal.

Having said that, twin 6+ EQs and three volcanos erupting in as many days tells us that increased volatility in the earth's deep recesses is not over.

Today's moving day. My aunt, uncle, brother, cousin and friend are coming over. Might take Sunday too, we'll see. I probably won't be around until mid next week.

Just got word - my daughter got 1st place for her cake!!!!

The theme, is the difference is ONE. the thermometer was suppose to be on top of the globe but it wouldn't stay up. Looks very weird where it is, lol

I have a friend who used to create fancy cakes like this, so I know the work that goes into it. It's gorgeous! Love the cherry blossom tree. Just beautiful! Didn't you say if she won the prize is a scholarship of some sort?

Not sure how that all works. They said they would be contacting the winners later. I know I did a lot of work on it, the tedious stuff as she just didn't have the time. The cherry blossom tree is made out of grape stems that were covered candy melts and then the blossoms were piped on one by one by one by one by one.....lol, she did about 1/3 of those. She made all the figures.

I am so very proud of her.

Now the next cake. This one will be for her senior English project and is 75% of her grade. That one will be all dummy cake, so she will be starting that one soon. She wants it HUGE like 5 feet tall. She wants it like a wedding cake extraordinaire!!!!! She wants it blinged out so that means hot candy which I won't let her do, so I will be making lots and lots of clear gems!
This one will be done just in time for me to start on her graduation cake which will be Harry Potter Themed!
Going to be up to my eye brows in cake for the next two months!!!!!

It is called Capstone. The Seniors are suppose to pick something they would likely make a career in and then do a big presentation with a 5 page thesis, power point presentation and of course a display. The fancy cake is only her topic. One person is making a speed bike from scratch. Another has made a new game app. The list goes on and only their imagination is the limit.
