This place is less than 5 minutes from my house and I have never known that they have a telescope there and offer this! I'm signing up! HIGH ROCK PARK, TOWER AND OBSERVATORYHigh Rock is home to the city's large 12 inch Meade telescope with lenses powerful enough to view the rings of Saturn, Jupiter and her moons, galaxies, star clusters, nebulae and many other wonders of the night sky. [ link to cityoflynn.net] [ link to cityoflynn.net] This should be helpful for me learning how to use my telescope.  I always wanted an awesome telescope, but damn the really good ones are over 10k. I know it. : ( My parents got me one for Christmas (not one of the fancy super expensive ones - although it should be good for a beginner), but it seems the nights that are warm enough to bring it outside are too cloudy. I haven't gotten any practice in lol. Can't wait for the nicer temps to get here, consistently. Hoping I can learn a thing or two up at that observatory. The guy just emailed me back saying the 2016 schedule should be up soon. Funny thing is, my mom told me about this last week. She wants to go too, so it'll be a date with my mom haha! One by one I am turning my family into sky-tards!
