Is it inhabited or was there any damage? That was a pretty big one. We're rocking and ringing on this big old ball. Did I see two 7+? I'm going to go check my app. Quoting: La Sirena Me too La Sirena. I turned off my phone and set it to charge just before the Fiji quake last night. Woke up today, turned my phone on, and my EQ app started going off like crazy! I only have the alert set to go off for biggies (6+EQs) and any 3+ that are within a radius of where I live. So whenever I hear that sound (which happens to be the Price is Right trombone sound), I know it's typically not good news. As usual, I miss everything! Thankfully the South Sandwich one is out in the middle of nowhere. But I agree w/CS - I don't know that I've seen one that big in that area. That's a great alert tone lol! I keep mine on silent but have updates on my iPad for mag 4 and up......and I have trouble sleeping so I usually check it in the middle of the night. Slept well last night but got a big surprise this morning when I saw all the alerts. Scary size quake for that area, agreed. I'm feeling we will see another large one in a different location very soon. American by birth and southern by the grace of God..... |
