JazzyG Forum Administrator  User ID: 3448973  United States09/12/2016 11:15 PM  Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | GYEONGJU, South Korea, Sept. 13 (Yonhap) -- South Korea's southeastern coastal city of Gyeongju, hit by a magnitude 5.8 earthquake on Monday, isn't exactly a hub for seismic activity, but records show it has had its share of tremors over the span of its long history. Historic records and books recorded from ancient times showed the ancient city being jolted by past temblors according to a study by Lee Kie-hwa, a former geology professor of the Seoul National University. The study entitled "Earthquakes in Korea" analyzed earthquakes recorded in major history books such as the History of the Three Kingdoms, the History of Goryeo and The Annals of the Joseon Dynasty and observation data compiled after 1905. I take an RV and go with a couple of other friends each time. This year we had early entry passes and went in on Thursday. I am not sure if that is better because we helped for a couple of days to set up the camp. That was quite a bit of work. It is hard to explain but the night time is better than the day time because of the lights and all of the people that are traveling every direction on the dry lake bed (playa) It is not meant for everyone but it is fun to see a city in the desert of 70,000 people and then it disappears. You probable see burners all over western states traveling to and from there with playa dust on everything when they go home.
