Gonna catch a few hours nap now, turkey goes into the oven at 11:00 tonight then slow bakes with lots of basting until tomorrow. I cook it on low heat, takes about twelve hours depending on the size of the turkey. The one my husband bought looks like a small buffalo. Lots of tasty smells throughout the night. WA, I bet your house smells like the most delicious perfume. See you later, good people. Quoting: -Haun- I've always been intrigued by the slow/low turkey cook method. I don't know that I want to be up all night in order to try it, but you never know. Get some rest! Quoting: KickinIt How about a beer can turkey, anybody ever do that? Quoting: bigD111 We did that one year - yuck. The soda can worked better without making it sweet. My Great-grandma used to get up at the crack of dawn and put the turkey in. Never understood it as it only takes about 3 1/2-4 hours for a 19 pound turkey. Now I am thinking it was because she slow roasted it. To add, ours it always juicy and fall off the bone tender.
