I just love decorations !

We've been amassing decorations from all the countries we've lived in and states over the last 43 year of our marriage. When we first got married we were very poor and bought a cardboard angel to top our first Christmas tree. It still tops the tree in the living room today although it looks like its been through the wars. One arm went missing in Italy so I made her another arm and sewed her a dress. Some people go Oooh and ahhh over our decorations until they see the angel then look confused. So of course we have to tell the story of how she got there.

We both go right to the feels when we see her.

That's really great! Nothing wrong with being poor. Then when you get wealthier, you appreciate it more. I remember a great book I read about the depression, it was called "We had everything but money."

Its one of those things where we didn't know we were poor and if we did, we didn't care. We were scraping the barrel for a long time until both of us got through graduate school.

That's right, and it was what the book was about. They were all poor, and the kids didn't even realize it. They had a great life in spite of having no money.

What we are seeing, two things: firstly,EMSC has added LIM-network similar to the Mexico-quakes which means we now see all over 3+ in Peru. And as you can see very large portion of those new Peru quakes are between 4.0 and 4.4 (which did not appear before because the threshold was 4.5)

Secondly: whether this really is an uptick or not would need analysis of the Peruvian network's history data. We are seeing more quakes yes, but did they occur before this new source was added? Something to ponder.

If indeed the 4-4.4 have increased then it's an uptick.

What I'm saying is basically this: how do we know that the quakes in Peru or Mexico really have increased? We may be just seeing more because lowering of the threshold.

I'm working on Christmas decorations off and on while I GLP. We have a set of red silk embroidered table coverings that we bought in Germany to cover every single table, end table, coffee table, and sideboard. Our decorations stay up until the Feast of the Epiphany. Its a Russian Orthodox thing.

You know what that means? No dusting for almost two months!
YAY! Traditions are wonderful!

Re: Earthquake Thread ~ Always Updated
Those mentioned upticks coincide with my analysis that the reason we see more earthquakes is because well, now we have two networks more(LIM and UNM). I'm not here to shill or debate, but sometimes you have to take logical explanations as well. Most of the uptick clearly has to do with 3-4.4Mw quakes being now reported.

Here is a screencapture of felt events in Peru seismological site. This is taken directly from Peruvian sources. Notice how we are totally average pace for november.

We have to agree to disagree on this matter :)
