Kind of brutal when you're sittin' here, all alone, you wrote a 5,000+ word post on your personal blog detailing your entire surgery story - surgery, recovery, complications, etc and nobody reads/posts/comments.

Despite you being a part of the industry for over ten years...none of your friends/parents/etc don't even read it.......

Maybe I'm being too sensitive. It is the holidays who would care anyway. Everyone's doing their own thing.

Maybe I need to constantly post more about it on social media beyond the first couple days. I dunno.....

Before I start my post please note the object is not to hurt your feelings. I am sincere in that. I'm just giving you my opinion on what I consider is good social etiquette. If you get offended my apologies.

That was the Southern Gentleman now for the brutally honest, most people think I'm an asshole.

5000 fucking word post are you kidding me?? If my best friend of years did that I wouldn't read that shit. It's like when you ask that great aunt how she's doing and she really fucking tells you from her bursitis and rheumatoid arthritis to her hip replacement. Fuck I was only asking to be polite.

There is a point of overkill. It's not that most people don't care, it's just that we don't want or need to know that much detail of personal problems. Keep it short and sweet and infrequent as possible and you would probably get more of a response out of your personal blog. If specific questions are asked go into detail then and only then.

I'll give you some for instances. You posted a while back about how long it's been since you had a shower. REALLY????
NO ONE wants to know that piece of information it's disgusting. That's not sharing that's grossing people out.
In another you posted that you were 15 minutes early to your DR appointment. OK what's the relevant information there?? I still wonder why you posted that. It's like a friend texting me he was eating a ham sandwich for lunch. It's useless information I don't need to know.People just don't want to know every single detail about it. Everyone has there own lives and own problems to worry about and again it's not that your friends don't care but it comes to a point of going from caring to not this shit again because of the deluge of details everyday it makes them become desensitized to your plight.

Your personal blog should go something like this

entry:Going to have surgery on this date due to whatever
entry:Had surgery yesterday in a lot of pain
(few weeks later)
entry: Having some complications hurt like hell
entry:Starting therapy for walking again tomorrow looking forward to it
entry:Finally up and about again legs doing great
keep each entry to about a paragraph and only give details when asked.

Again just my personal observations and opinions on social etiquette, not everyone might believe the way I do. The thing is have some respect for other peoples lives and that they to may be having problems or difficulties of their own so don't burden them down with overkill of your personal life.
It's ok to call me an asshole. I've been told my blunt, brutal honesty makes me come across as one. I'm not offended by it.

peace

In the kindest way possible...he is right you know. Don't be hurt by the lack of responses on your blog or anywhere else. :)
