Quoting: WhiteAngel Last night I was going to ask Finland what the precursors might be for CA since it has been so long since they have had a big quake. This 6.8 was off the coast and still not on land. Would still like to know if he, Finland has noticed a pattern for any of the larger quakes in CA. The bay area has been on mind for over a week. Less so would be the LA area. Other than the relation to Chile events I have nothing constructive to add, need to check history for more correlations.. There are others on this thread who are really up-to-date on Cascadia events... I would not panic yet on Cascadia ripping up, there has been four times in the last 12 years a quake of this magnitude has happened without all hell breaking loose. Chile on the other hand as said has reacted very violently on Northern California events. Stay vigilant, I guess. |

Bay Area Rapid Transit trains temporarily moved at a reduced speed after the temblor, leading to delays of about 10 minutes, the transit system's Twitter account said. The move was precautionary, CNN affiliate KGO reported. I will however check California 6+ quake history and say if there is any place other than Chile to really worry about. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 73443188 Thanks Finland!
