THE SOLAR WIND HAS ARRIVED: As predicted, a high-speed stream of solar wind hit Earth's magnetic field during the early hours of Feb. 1st, causing G1-class geomagnetic storms and bright auroras around the Arctic Circle.

Tonight should be good, too. NOAA forecasters estimate a 60% chance of continued geomagnetic storms as Earth moves deeper into the solar wind stream. Arctic sky watchers should remain alert for auroras.
