I read that giraffes instinctually do not let on when they are about to go in labor. They will act like nothing's going on until they are in active birth. This is so predators are unaware and do not sit and wait to prey while they give birth. The zoo or wherever she's at said to look for hip posturing. I think the birth itself should take 30 min. to an hour once it starts.
