KickinIt User ID: 56337101 United States 04/15/2017 08:03 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Good morning earthquake peeps! Quoting: CuriousSeeker How are we now? First week of work went well, and they let us off early for the Easter weekend. Everyone was asking me what happened - I had to tell my story 100 times. I am walking with a walker and still in my brace. Improvement in bending and endurance is finally happening daily thanks to all of my additional physical activity. I can walk from my office all the way down to my mom's car without much issue and have to take a single occasional break on the way down (elevators only -- can't do stairs yet). Everyone is awesome. My co-workers get up to help me with the super heavy doors at work, even though I don't ask. I say "Thank you so much, you don't have to do that." and a standard response of "Don't worry about it." is the usual. I didn't find out how heavy the bathroom doors were until Thursday because even people from the next door who knew me from before would help hold the door, I am using my chair to wheel myself to meetings only because I don't want to hold up anyone and want to be at meetings on time. That's great, CS. Sounds like your return to work couldn't have gone better. |

WhiteAngel also known at WA User ID: 64882758 United States 04/15/2017 08:21 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Well, today couldn't have worked out better than it did. Woke up early and got to see April have her baby. Then my friend came over around 10 and we packed both our cars and took some stuff over to my new house. Got back thinking we'd have to wait at least an hour for the charity pick up (they gave me a 3 hour window, so it could've been a much longer wait). Ends up, as soon as we got out of our cars, there came their big truck to get my furniture donations. Thank god we were home, they were an hour early! So once they were done we packed our cars again. Then we walked to a nearby pizza place to get some food, ate, had a few beers on my new patio, then put together a new bed frame and shoe shelves. Got SO much done today. I'm sore and tired as hell, but feeling good about the progress. And now that we got rid of so much, I have more room to pack the rest of my stuff. Official move (of the furniture) won't be for 2 more weeks, but I hope to have most done by then other than the big stuff. Yeah! Quoting: KickinIt And as it's been said here, since I got home I can't take my eyes off our little giraffe friend. My god, I don't know the last time I saw so much cuteness. Moving is never fun but it sounds like you are doing it slow and steady which keeps the chaos down. Yes, Little Boy (my nickname for him) is so precious. When he runs I always giggle. God's creatures!!! Slow and steady was the goal! Much less overwhelming that way. And it definitely has been helpful. I notice she still looks to be contracting at times. Is that normal? I would imagine there could be residual contracting until the muscles, etc. settle down. But what do I know, I've never birthed a baby. April seems to be acting a little weird too. Kinda still, just staring off and doesn't seem to be eating much. Perhaps that's normal too. I just worry :) |

The guilt is gone. Prayed about it and "felt" like He told me "I gave all herbs for your health." Since then, it is only small (tiny compared to what most are likely using) amount for her and the moment passes without her falling apart like before. She is reading a few self-help books, going to the gym and walking to help herself. I THANK GOD WITH ALL MY HEART for all of your prayers and having a place to come to - to ask for HELP. It takes a month or two for uterus to return to normal. My thinking, since there isn't a giraffe midwife, maybe the contractions stay harder longer to make sure all the afterbirth is expelled. I worry why she's on the other side of the pen from the baby. She's been doing that for a bit, and I think now she finally laid down (and yes, I think it's been since Thursday as people were wondering earlier). She's on the other side and facing away from the baby! That doesn't seem right. Before she went over there, at one point the baby was trying to get some milk and April took off abruptly! I hope nothing's wrong and April feels ok. Maybe she's just delirious and tired. |
