Statistical "proof" that at least 8.6+ is coming this year (approximately).

Average number of 6.0-6.9 in the last 10 years: 149
2017 with current pace: 92 !! We would be 57 earthquakes behind.

Average number of 7.0-9.9 in the last 10 years: 17
2017 with current pace: 7 ! We would be approximately 10 behind.

My belief is, that a massive quake would have to occur to produce majority of the lacking earthquakes.
Anything smaller could not catch up the statistical average effectively.

For further illustration, here are some of the major earthquakes and their aftershock numbers (6+ within a month)

2007: Indonesia 8.4 - 13 aftershocks larger than 6
2015: Chile 8.3 - 14
2004: Indonesia 9.3 - 19
2010: Chile 8.8 - 20
2011: Japan 9.0 - 49

Nothing more to say really. It is coming.

Tropical storms likely to form in Gulf, Atlantic

Two separate tropical storms are likely to form in Gulf of Mexico and in the Atlantic over the next couple of days, the National Hurricane Center said.

On average, there's one named storm in June in the Atlantic, Caribbean or Gulf of Mexico every other year, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration said.

"It’s not so uncommon to get a named storm in the Atlantic during June," Weather Underground said, noting Colin and Danielle developed during the month in 2016 and were the earliest C and D storms on record.

"But it’s remarkable to have two potential tropical cyclones at the same time during mid-June," the website added.

I think we will be in for a busy hurricane season. Just a matter of time before a cat 4-5 hits the u.s. coastline. Sadly, there is no way we can fully prepare for a storm of that magnitude. It really won't surprise me to have another Katrina disaster in our lifetimes.

Got my grandparents in St. Augustine - they have been lucky and haven't had a strong storm in many years. They always tell me there due for a big one.

Some nasty isolated thunderstorms sweeping through the north east as we speak. Some places may see rain up to 2 inches an hour with isolated tornados possible.

Perfect timing for me to be out of the area.
We do not learn from history because our studies are brief and prejudiced. In a surprising manner, 250 years emerges as the average length of national greatness. This average has not varied for 3,000years. The stages of the rise and fall of great nations seem to be:
The Age of Pioneers , The Age of Conquests ,The Age of Commerce ,The Age of Affluence ,The Age of Intellect ,The Age of Decadence.
Decadence is marked by: Defensiveness, Pessimism, Materialism,Frivolity An influx of foreigners The Welfare State A weakening of religion. Decadence is due to: Too long a period of wealth and power, Selfishness Love of money ,The loss of a sense of duty.
The life histories of great states are amazingly similar, and are due to internal factors. Their falls are diverse, because they are largely the result of external causes. - Sir John Glubb The Fate of Empires
We are at the end of the Age of Decadence heading into COLLAPSE

'We are probably not alone': 10 more planets that could support life found by NASA

Ten new planets outside our solar system that are likely the right size and temperature to potentially support life on them have been found by NASA’s planet-hunting telescope.

The 10 planets are among 219 new planets announced by NASA.

The latest research is based on observations made by Kepler during the first four years of its primary mission. NASA announced Monday its new findings — and it only looked in a tiny part of the galaxy.

Mario Perez, Kepler program scientist in the Astrophysics Division of NASA’s Science Mission Directorate, said the new discovery means that “we are probably not alone” because four years of data show how common Earth-like planets can be.

Not from here but i want to give this message:

Please don't post cracp about fires in a www3 thread. We don't care about fires..like at all..if it doesn't involve the U.S.A. it doesnt matter. These fires are in the U.S.A. so we don't care.

And yes, this is how it should be
