I woke up at 2:30 so thought I would look for meteors. It was so smokey, all I could see was the moon. Not one star even visible! Damn fires! We need some major rain! Quoting: bigD111 Damn! How much longer that smoke going to be around your way? Hope it rains brother. I think there are 22 fires in the timber in western Montana. It will take some rain to help put them out! Coming out of the city the other day, I could not see the mountains of home, only 30 miles away. I could not see them until I was within 10 miles. When I go out of the house in the morning, I can smell the smoke. It really sucks! That sounds miserable Big D. I hope it clears up for you and for Deano, who also has smokey skies. |

Quoting: Master of Nothing It's been shaking ever since i joined this thread! I don't recall anything like what's been going on for the past few months. It swarmed for a long time before the big one hit. Then after initial aftershocks it seemed to slow up considerably in comparson. But now it's picked up again which makes me wonder if another big one is brewing. Maybe there is something to that thread. |

Have a job interview tomorrow. Going back into the corporate world. Wish me luck. I'm going to miss wearing t-shirt,jeans,a ball cap and sneakers to work. We do not learn from history because our studies are brief and prejudiced. In a surprising manner, 250 years emerges as the average length of national greatness. This average has not varied for 3,000years. The stages of the rise and fall of great nations seem to be: The Age of Pioneers , The Age of Conquests ,The Age of Commerce ,The Age of Affluence ,The Age of Intellect ,The Age of Decadence. Decadence is marked by: Defensiveness, Pessimism, Materialism,Frivolity An influx of foreigners The Welfare State A weakening of religion. Decadence is due to: Too long a period of wealth and power, Selfishness Love of money ,The loss of a sense of duty. The life histories of great states are amazingly similar, and are due to internal factors. Their falls are diverse, because they are largely the result of external causes. - Sir John Glubb The Fate of Empires We are at the end of the Age of Decadence heading into COLLAPSE |
