Weird day today.

A colleague of mine got called into the bosses' office.

The boss said: "John, excellent news! You have been working so hard, I guess you are entitled to a raise."
Colleague reacted, almost in tears: "Wow! Thank you boss! I can really use it too."
Boss: "I know, I know, life is expensive for you. A wife, eight ex wives, alimony for 27 kids and number 28 on the way. I see where you are coming from. So that's why after thorough consideration and consulting the board of directors, we decided to raise your wages with 5 cents an hour."

Total silence..

Then all of a sudden my colleague crawled on top of the bosses' desk and made a frantic attempt to kiss him.
The boss pushed him away, but he kept coming at him, pursing his lips, grabbing our boss by the head and kissing him flat on the mouth.
The boss wiped his lips and screamed: "For godsakes man, control yourself! It is only 5 cents an hour!"
My colleague said: "Exactly boss, I know! But when I am getting screwed I wanna kiss too!"

Almost affraid to ask, but any news from your uncle?

They decreased the sedation yesterday and he actually started waking up, but still wasn't breathing on his own. If he does wake up and tries to pull out the breathing tube they'll have to sedate him again. My cousin and his wife were staying in New York again last night in case he woke up, but as of 10pm last night he hadn't.

I haven't gotten my update for today yet. I know they're concerned about infection due to the bowel obstruction, and that he's not a good candidate for surgery. It's really not looking good. :\

I am sorry to hear that Sim. I know this is a very serious, tense situation, but we need to get hope from the fact that nowadays they can work miracles in the medical field and he did start to wake up. Maybe that is a positive sign.

It is no guarantee, but sometimes the worst situations do improve too. Maybe Irish will power helps too.

Nevertheless, my most positive thoughts are with all of you honey.

A lunar occultation

As it did in November, the full moon will pass in front of, or "occult," the bright star Aldebaran. This event will be visible from northern Canada, Alaska, eastern Russia, Kazakhstan, much of China and as far south as Bangladesh.

In the continental U.S., residents of Washington state can catch the occultation; People in Seattle will see the predawn moon pass in front of Aldebaran at 6:09 a.m. local time, reappearing at 6:46 a.m. In Boise, Idaho, the occultation will start at 7:15 a.m., but skywatchers there won't get to see Aldebaran reappear from behind the moon, as the occultation ends after the moon sets at 7:43 a.m.

In Anchorage, Alaska, Aldebaran disappears behind the moon at 4:38 a.m. local time and reappears at 5:32 a.m. The moon becomes full soon after that at 6:46 a.m. local time, setting at 9:20 a.m. Canadian observers in Vancouver will see the occultation start at 6:06 a.m. and end at 6:46 a.m. (Full moon is at 7:46 a.m.)
