The snow stopped for about a half hour, and now its snowing again. Its moving eastward, maybe later on this afternoon for you?
 Quoting: -Haun-

Weatherman has the system moving northeast so I doubt it. But, there's always hope.

Oh dang, I thought it was just east. I do hope it snows for you. Its supposed to snow here until nightfall.

Northeast Pa. Here we were only supposed to get a flurry, maybe. We've got couple inches. I went for my walk in the woods at dusk.mit was soooo beautiful and quiet. Breathtaking.

I've said it here before but I'll say it again...the quietness that comes with snow is one of my favorite things. Especially a big snow, when everyone is hunkered down and nothing's moving but the snow. I love it!

One volcano with 9000 years just wake up in Iceland...

Saturday
09.12.2017 19:20:44 64.412 -20.719 5.0 km 3.5 99.0 1.6 km ENE of Skjaldbreið

[link to en.vedur.is]
 Quoting: Luisport

Skjaldbreiður, meaning the broad shield in Icelandic, is an Icelandic lava shield formed in one huge and protracted eruption roughly 9,000 years ago[citation needed]. The extensive lava fields which were produced by this eruption, flowed southwards, and formed the basin of Þingvallavatn, Iceland's largest lake, and Þingvellir, the "Parliament Plains" where the Icelandic national assembly, the Alþing was founded in 930.

The volcano summit is at 1,060 metres, and its crater measures roughly 300 metres in diameter.

Straddling the Mid-Atlantic ridge, the lava fields from Skjaldbreiður have been torn and twisted over the millennia, forming a multitude of fissures and rifts inside the Þingvellir National Park, the best known of which are Silfra, Almannagjá, Hrafnagjá and Flosagjá.

Welp, I rushed out earlier to get all my errands done so I'd be ready to head over to my friends' house at 5, and they ended up cancelling due to a kid who's sick with a stomach bug. Definitely don't want to go over there!

So......I'm taking this opportunity to get my Christmas bake on! Got a batch of caramels done yesterday but that's all I've done. Between today and tomorrow I should be able to accomplish a fair amount and then I can quit feeling panicked!

Wonderful! I might do some banana bread tonight and I saw a recipe on Pinterest for fudge that only requires condensed milk and nestle chocolate chips! You can even melt it in the microwave.

Happy Weekend everyone! Approx 4 inches of snow expected here in Holland tomorrow * To be gone by Monday, but nevertheless.

* The white stuff. Not to be confused with a miniature midget, 4 inches tall, called Snow (or a Vienna Wiener with that name of the same height for that matter.

Love to all! hf

We can trade, you can come visit me on St. Patrick's day - big blowout in my 'hood on that day.

You are all invited. There is so much beauty everywhere in this world. I love the wideness of The States for instance. To travel and not meet anyone for hours. I guess every place has it's beauty.

Beware that often we got rain instead of snow, but the atmosphere here is so beautiful that time of year too. My sister is a YUUUGE Dickens and England fan from those ages. She has a master degree in English Literature and goes there practically every year.

I just remembered that when I went to Holland, it was in mid to late February and it was in the low to mid 40's and either drizzling or overcast most of the time. So really, I guess I went during the winter, I just hit it during a mild streak. Would probably be hard to plan a trip for when it snows. It's a crapshoot! I need to come for Dickens Festijn, though. There's still so many places for me to visit too in Europe as well. Been to a lot of countries. Scotland was beautiful as well, with the castles and the Highlands.

We even went on a boat on Loch Ness. Funny fact: They had put plastic Nessie stickers on all windows just above the waterline, so it looked like the Monster was actually in the water. There was a group of Japanese tourists and they got extremely excited from that. I can still hear them cheering when I think back of that..

We will have to hire a plane to fly everyone in for the Dickens Festijn. Just make a flight across the States to pick everyone up! Make sure you wear a sign with your avatar on it, so we can recognise you all, lol.

I was there when I was 18, and stayed with a family. They had a small dairy farm. The dairy barn was their home. From the kitchen, you opened a door into the milking parlor. The mother made Butterscotch pudding every day, and it was so good! I helped them stack their hay. We stopped when it was time for the world cup championship.Germany won 2-1. Great game, and the first time I ever watched a soccer-football game. The boys I was staying with, were 6'7, and 6'9! I was 5'9,being a late bloomer. We rode around on a Honda 50. Loved it! Went to Maduro-dam, probably spelled it wrong. Lol. Went swimming in the North Sea, a lady came and changed right in front of us! Great memories!
