Kinda cookies you makin lady? Here's my family's secret, awesome, "cookie truffle" recipe my mom stole off the internet. Blend a box of oreos. Once fine crushed, by hand mix them with a 8 ounce package of cream cheese. Roll them into tiny ballsacks. Melt some of that cooking chocolate and dip the balls real deeplike into the melted chocolate. Put on parchment paper then into the fridge. Easy - and delicious. A family favorite for years now. Sorry for the graphic food porn recipe, i couldn't help myself. :jacklaught: Weekend was okay. Just laid up icing and elevating the ankle. Sore and stiff but the swelling has gone down. Gonna boot up and go to work tomorrow - probably should stay off it longer but i'm broker than an old VCR and need the money. |

I make homemade caramels in dark chocolate w/sea salt, and, these peanut-butter ball thingys also covered in chocolate and sprinkled with salt. Similar to a "buckeye", if you know what those are, but in actuality are very different and way better than any buckeye I've ever had. That sounds a little cocky, but it's the truth. It's probably the thing I make that I'm most "known" for. I also make 3 kinds of cookies - same ones every year and it's the only time of year I make them. I don't make a huge variety, but what I make I know how to make well. I'm glad to hear you've been taking it easy and resting up. If you continue that today, you'll be in even better position to get some work in tomorrow. Just be careful and go slow! ETA: Those cookie things you mentioned sound delicious, and I now wonder if I've had something similar in the past. Last Edited by KickinIt on 12/17/2017 11:43 AM |

KickinIt User ID: 74785546 United States 12/17/2017 01:24 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Well this is interesting. Dutch saying that there might be volcano action off the coast of Cali. That might explain the activity. Start it around 3:00 and go from there to see why he's saying this. This video was posted 2 days ago, so the activity he saw that he's questioning took place the day before (10th). Quoting: KickinIt I posted the above on 12/13. Below is a new video posted yesterday. I didn't watch it all myself, but the first 4 min. or so gets to the point- a box of lava rocks that a viewer sent him, found onshore near Eureka, CA. It is surmised this is related to the volcano activity he noted in the first video. And, in the comments from this new vid., I saw this: Nice work Debbie and Ron M. going over to the coast and finding those lava rocks on the beach near Orick!! and then sending them to Dutch. As you probably know they where having a series of loud "booms" around Eureka/Arcata last week. Right during the period Dutch found the volcanic plume right off the coast from Eureka >>><<< |

Quoting: Master of Nothing :herestoyou: I almost posted the same thing hahah. Earth busy farting a bunch of 4's out. How was your weekend festivities? Hey MoN Weekend has been good thanks! Had delicious Korean food and hung out w/some friends I rarely see last night, which was fun. Friday night I got some of my holiday baking done - or really, just the chocolate-covering for all the caramels, etc., which took almost 4 hours and 4 lbs. of chocolate. Today I have to start on the cookies though. I have tomorrow off as well, but today I'm on a mission and hope to get the majority of it done. Once I get enough coffee in me, that is. ETA (because my brain is still asleep) - how was your weekend? And how's the ankle? We are doing cookies today too! Trying to get in the spirit a bit...it is seeming difficult this year. Quoting: mistersplinter Trying to get in the spirit a bit...it is seeming difficult this year. It will come my friend. It belongs to this time of year. Like a Christmas story, always starting of in some kind of somber mode, but when time progresses, memories and warm moments take over. I have written many Christmas stories over the years, always with a twist of humor. In Dutch. Maybe I will write one in English one of these days.. A time to reflect, a tear and a laugh, knowing things will be alright with all of us. |
