All day Thursday meteorologists are going to be glued to the new GOES-East satellite watching a truly amazing extratopical "bomb" cyclone off New England coast. It will be massive -- fill up entire Western Atlantic off U.S. East Coast. Pressure as low as Sandy & hurricane winds

While there will be coastal impacts from "bomb" cyclone -- extremely dangerous cold from brutal wind chills will wreck the Midwest and Northeast during day Friday into Saturday --> Record lows likely at most locations. @WeatherdotUS

Just 2 days ago they were saying 1-3 up northeast. Wouldn't be surprised if that total jumps up even more For me the most impressive is that so old cold records will fall, like 135year records, it's so crazy! No joke. Low forecasted at 0 degrees here on thursday. No chance of snow though. With the wind chill - where probably looking at the coldest temps I will have ever experienced in my life.
