mistersplinter User ID: 54009779 United States 01/05/2018 01:40 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Happy Friday Quakesters! Quoting: mistersplinter I hope you all have a good weekend and that digging out is no problem for anyone. Back at ya bud. How are things down south? Everything back to normal around your stomping grounds yet? For the most part. We are still having some issues with black ice in the shady areas. Trucks have been out putting dirt (yes, dirt) on them where they can. Where I live is pretty rural so there are a LOT of shady spots. They went ahead and cancelled schools for the week, but the mail is back on and my wife, who works for a university, is back to work. Just very cold for another couple of days. Not as cold as what y'all are getting, but cold for us. My poor heat pumps are having a hard time keeping up. I hope all is well for you and I am a little worried that Simple hasn't checked in yet. I hope she hasn't lost power in that nasty, nasty cold they were getting up there. "I have no special talents. I am only passionately curious." -- Albert Einstein |

Oh joy. To know where your heart is, look where your mind goes when it wanders. A rock in bad hands killed Abel. A rock in good hands killed Goliath. It isn't about the rock. A true warrior fights not because he hates the one in front of him, but because he loves those behind him. INTP-A |

Simple27 (OP) User ID: 75856824 United States 01/05/2018 02:42 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I'm becoming a big believer of karosine heaters because they are an independent heat source when all has failed Quoting: TheOldMan Hope the house heats up soon I love mine. It heats our entire house, except for the upstairs which we don't even use or heat. It's just a converted attic anyways. The only thing that sucks is that you can't regulate the heat. You either have to turn it off for a while or open a window (which at 2 degrees, I am absolutely NOT doing). 20+ years ago, we used to heat our old house with just a kerosene heater. The price of kerosene has gone up considerably since then. Although it's extremely warm heat, it's expensive to use...sigh I should probably look into purchasing one of those... ~*Ride the Wave*~ |
