Yes, I know...I admit it, I am not that good looking anyway even though I lost 85 lbs. ...anyway...back to text updates it is........ Quoting: CuriousSeeker ============================ Gotta reset expectations a bit. Had a bit of a set back today. After some investigation my Physical Therapist identified the fact that I am not really using my tendon very much while walking. So we initiated a protocol of exercises that get me to shifting weight properly and using that tendon again. And boy did it get a workout! There is no pain or anything like that. Just weakness. Which is good I guess. Anyway... My ROM hasn't increased very much. I've increased my Dynasplint use to 4 hours per day and have been doing this every day per my surgeon's recommendation and it's still at like 90 degrees. I'm sure it's going to take a bit of use with the Dynasplint to get my ROM beyond 90 degrees. And: WOW I really was not walking normal at all before. It has been over a year since I've used this tendon properly. On the parallel bars I could barely just start stepping properly. I have a lot of work to do, so I booked two more PT appointments. They could not get these two appointments at the time because they had already booked up January. Back to the grind it is! Well, it was a long recovery before you could even walk again, so I can imagine it will take time for your muscles and tendons to get back to normal operation. Just keep at it, you'll get there. You already are, albeit slower than you'd like I'm sure. Yep! That it was. My PT is usually wrong about the length of time for recovery because I don't really think they understand, even when I say it, everything I've been through from this surgery. |
