Steamboat geyser eruption reported at Yellowstone

YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK - Yellowstone National Park employees reported seeing an eruption of Steamboat Geyser Thursday night.

Park officials compared the sightings with remote USGS thermal sensors. Park geologists believe the activity could be a series of minor eruptions.

Steamboat's last major eruption was on September 3, 2014. Its minor and major eruptions are entirely unpredictable.

I've been so busy I wanted to keep it easy and not have to cook everything like I normally would. But I am making about 4.5 lbs. of pulled bbq chicken in the crockpot right now so I can just warm it up tomorrow (plus buns). I also have a huge vat of hummus, spinach dip (which I made), cheddar jalapeno pub cheese, pretzel chips, plain and bbq chips, crackers, carrots/celery/red pepper, grapes, cashews, and a big St. Pat's decorated cookie cake. Oh, and doughnut holes and mini orange scones for the morning (starting early, there's a parade involved).

All that, and I really don't know how many people are coming! I think at least 15, so that'll put a dent in the food anyway. It's sort of an open house all day, and I think some might make a game-time decision based on weather.

Fun fact: I spent just as much on the booze as I did on the food. Almost to the dollar.

The funny thing is, as far as I know, I don't have any Irish blood in me. I haven't really celebrated a proper St. Pat's for a good few years, so tomorrow should be fun. Long, but hopefully fun. And I really hope the mystery bagpipe-playing-neighbor makes an appearance and starts playing in the street or something.

I'm not feeling very Irish making pulled bbq chicken. I really wanted to make corned beef n cabbage, but a lot of people don't like either of those things, so I decided to just play it safe. There's nothing Irish about my food (unless you count the decorated cookie cake), nor did I put up one decoration. My solo cups are blue. I bought assorted American beers, cheap champagne and fruity vodkas. But I managed to pull together a very clean house and a decent munchie spread in little time, so I'm ok with it.

Couldn't wait to get here and give my Hello Fresh review. This is a company that sends fresh food and recipes to your house for you to prepare.

OMG!!!!!! I LOVED IT!! UPS delivered the box at about 4:30pm on the 16th (today). I ordered on the 12th. I ordered two meals for two people (they don't have a single serve option). Cost would have been $39.95 but I had a coupon from Pintrest for $30 dollars!!! So it was only $9.95. I do not see any charge for shipping for far. Came with a big freezer pack to keep it chilled.

I will be able to get four dinners and two lunches (at least) as the portions are large. I could easily get six dinners out it. The regular fee would be $39.95 so that's about $10 bucks each for 4 dinners, $7.50each if I get 6 meals out of it.

There is NO WAY I could buy all the ingredients to make these dishes for even close to that because you can't purchase individual portions at the grocery store. So this lifestyle choice is very economical.

Now for the food, let me say again, OMG. There was a little confusion when ordering I picked two items then changed one of them but the change didn't register and I got those first two picks. So I didn't get the duck :(

I ordered 1)Tuscan Spiced Shrimp with Orzo and 2)Swedish Meatloaves. Tonight I made the Tuscan Shrimp and Orzo, it was to die for. It was as good or better (because its home prepared) than most restaurant dishes.

I feel like I am getting fantastic cooking lessons along with the food! I think I made Orzo once, years ago and I certainly didn't think to toast it first with a special blend of spices like they showed me. Also toasted panko bread crumbs with the special spices for the shrimp.

You also slice, and dress tomatoes and then roast them in the oven to serve with the dish. Never would have done that in a million years and it was so integral to the dish. These are like five star restaurant quality. The shrimp was fresh and delicious.

This would work for people on a diet too if you spread it out into more portions. The dinner is 790 calories. I'm using smaller portions so my calories for this meal were only about 530!!!

Tomorrow I'll make the Swedish Meatloaf with mashed potatoes, roasted carrots and currant jam, and a nice little gravy, yum yum. I will let you know how that goes. So far I'm a huge fan!!

Isis that sounds perfect!! I believe we have a couple of similar services around here and I've considered trying it but haven't yet.

Your review is probably going to make me go for it!

What a great review! Makes me want to order some! Both sound absolutely delicious. And the calories are very low, which is a bonus.

I totally endorse it KickinIt! However, I got the calories mixed up. The numbes posted above are for the meatloaf. The shrimp was 710, smaller portion 470!!!

I have some friends who have gone to one of those places where you pay a certain amount, pick the dishes you want, and you make them in freezable containers and can just pop them in the oven. They have all the ingredients laid out and you just follow the recipe and put it all together. Each time they got several meals, each for 2pp, if not 3. Both times they did it, they ended up giving me some, and both times they were really good. I don't know if that's any cheaper than what you got, but they did say they enjoyed doing it and liked the meals.
