The bulk of this year’s deadly flu season was dominated by the H3N2 virus, an influenza A strain that is more severe and less receptive to vaccines than other types of the disease. As the season winds down, however, influenza B has overtaken influenza A, setting the scene for a possible second wave of flu, according to Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) data. [link to time.com] Hubby & I both tested positive for flu B. Several days of low fever and horrible body aches, followed by 1.5 weeks of total fatigue. Absolutely NO energy. Hubby had extra round of antibiotics to ward off pneumonia. I had to have it for sinus infection. The Dr said it's the secondary infections that are taking the worst toll. Looks like we caught things in time. But it was pretty tough!!! Dang that sounds terrible! Hope you feel better soon! |

I could do all these jobs i applied for that didn't call me back - and exceed at them. That's the frustrating part. I know I would be a valuable asset. But I'm just a nobody in their eyes. That's honestly one of the biggest problems with this world as a whole. We don't give strangers-people the chance they deserve. Don't assume it's because you're a "nobody" to them. There are A LOT of people looking for jobs. Often there are hundreds of applicants for a given opening. I've been told that many times, for jobs in my field, but also in others (I've asked around). It's a tough market. It simply takes more work to find a job these days (years, really). And don't give up on non-profit work. If you can just get your foot in the door, the right people will sense your passion and it won't matter that most of your experience is in other areas (experience they can use as well in the long run, it's not all about non profit or social work-type experience). And if you can take the time between applying, pick a non-profit you really like and ask about volunteering. If they get to know you through your work that way, you might have a better chance at working there. And might hear of openings there before they get advertised! Good luck! I just had to start trying to get another job, so I know how hard it can be. My area (the oil patch) has an abundance of jobs - of all kinds! But it's not a very pretty area to live, and the cost of living is outrageous. Lots of people living in travel trailers... TANSTAAFL - There Ain't No Such Thing As A Free Lunch |
