She still had her graduation only she walked in her cap and gown down our stone pathway to the table we set up, on which laid the scrolled up diploma I had made her. Her brother played the graduation march on his guitar. She still had her party filled with family and friends.

For 15 years, she was one of the most liked and talented bartenders in town, raking in more than $400 a day just in tips. And for the last 5 years, she and her husband have run their own successful home remodeling business.

Lacking that gym class really held her back eh? lol

High temperature forecast by NWS in Minneapolis of 21°F would be the record coldest April monthly high temperature on record (since 1872)
So, you could say the coldest day in April ever recorded in April is in the forecast.

4 h
Record low forecast for Minneapolis Thursday morning of 7°F would also tie for the 4th coldest reading ever in month of April.
Oh yeah, record low of 5°F Saturday morning would be the 2nd coldest April morning. And then another 7°F on Sunday morning ... you get the picture.

WA, when do you get your results back from Monday?
 Quoting: Simple27

Just got back from doctor.

Slightly elevated white count = duh
Moderately elevated test for asthma = duh
The other 3 tests weren't back yet.

CT scan was goodish. There were two small nodules, that they want me to have another scan in a year to see if they have grown. Some scarring due to past pneumonia but they weren't bad enough to treat - that means cutting them out.

Hubby and I both agree that we wanted this tested again in a couple of months and if still there (after new treatment plan), then we want them biopsied. Dr didn't seem too concerned at this point, as he thinks they are from all the infection I have had since Dec. I am still inflamed (but not pneumonia) but he didn't want to put me on more antibiotics at this time.

Changed out all my asthma meds and scheduled me for a bunch of breathing tests that have to be done in a hospital setting.

Doctors are idiots, so I will be doing all I can to make sure those "nodules" go away. Need to do some reading to figure out how to do that??????

Overall, I am optimistically cautious and no longer scared.

Not trying to take away from your sons' achievement WA, but I think HS graduations are bunk and I'll tell ya why.

Many years ago when my oldest daughter was a senior in HS, every student sat down with their counselors at the beginning of the year to make sure that they had all of the required courses/credit for graduation. My daughters counselor assured her that she already had them all fulfilled and that her senior year could be for whatever courses she wanted. Most of the courses she liked were already full, so she ended up with 4 study periods a day, which we all saw as a humongous waste of time.

3 weeks before the graduation ceremony, she got called into her counselors office and told that she would not be able to walk with her class in the ceremony. Why? Seems the counselor had neglected to note that my daughter lacked ONE QUARTER of a credit required for graduation. And that credit was for FUCKING GYM CLASS. They told her she would need to attend summer school to get it and would receive her diploma in the mail afterwards.

Her cap and gown had already been bought. The white shoes they required for all girls had been purchased. The invitations for her graduation had already gone out. The party supplies for the big family shindig were stacked in my kitchen. I told her FUCK THEM. As far as we were concerned, she HAD fulfilled all of her 'duties'.

She still had her graduation only she walked in her cap and gown down our stone pathway to the table we set up, on which laid the scrolled up diploma I had made her. Her brother played the graduation march on his guitar. She still had her party filled with family and friends. And that gym class she 'lacked' in order to prove that she had 'achieved' success went into the dustbin of bad jokes.
 Quoting: ~Jazzy~

I actually agree with you. I am proud of my son but.....

His classes were scaled to his needs, not regular class abilities. So that diploma, to me isn't a full one (I will never say this out loud to anyone else but you all and my husband) but it is as far as the state is concerned and any future employer.

Kids today are graduating without being able to read, write or do simple math. They are ill prepared for the work field and then we wonder why they want the government to take care of them. They don't have a clue about history, government or social studies. Geography? I'm be surprised if most even know where the US is on a globe.

Hubby has never ever said a word about my smoking. He said he will never be like my brother who gives me hell about EVERYTHING. He said, "I think it is time you went on the patches and gave it up completely. I know you don't actually smoke anymore so it is just the stress-relief that you need."

I don't really smoke. I don't inhale and haven't since Dec. Just draw into my mouth (no nasty comments please), not even into my throat or I cough like crazy. But it is a relaxation thing. Sigh......

I need to walk and then walk some more but how when I canNOT breath????

Quality of life sucks. I can't figure out how I am going to make it to his graduation which will be held at CU in Boulder - it is huge and the long walks will kill me. God have mercy!

And the ride home didn't consist of that burning, tear inducing pain shooting down my legs. Scooter for ya ma'am? Oh yeah baby! Bring it!
