Simple answer and visual model is Wack-a-Mole, with the lava as the mole. Kilauea's mole just ducked down its hole, but the game's only starting. Even a child knows what happens next...mole jumps out an OPEN hole. Hawaii is a mighty holie land. Hard to watch them all. Which hole hides that mole? My eyes and quarter are on Mauna Loa, but my logic is also full of holes.
