Anyone nervous about no eqs in US ???
Quoting: Goofy for God Yes, concerned for my niece in school in Portland, OR. This is the first summer that she's chosen to remain out in Portland.
After reading 'THE REALLY BIG ONE" article from the NYer and watching a few non-fear mongering pro volcanologists' presentations on the CSZ, I referred my brother/her father to this info and encouraged him to have her formulate an eq emergency evacuation plan.
She's safety conscious, not a risk taker, but like 98 percent of people who haven't lived through even a minor earthquake, they can be sitting (like she is) front row center seat in the Pacific Northwest coast's CSZ (arguably the most dangerous, overdue megaquake zone on earth), and still give little or no thought to the Really Big One that mainstream uncontested science says
will soon repeat...right under their seat.
On a comforting note, my brother said that her University is located up high there in one of the more safer eq zones.
