I wrote a short speech for my Brothers celebration of life today and would like your feed back on it, hopefully I can get it out without to many tears....thank you all for being there for me in this difficult time.....grouphug

I would like to thank you all for coming here today to celebrate my brother Robert's life

Rob touched all of our hearts in his unique way, we all have a moment where Rob has made us laugh uncotrollably, and today I ask you all to share them

Rob was not just my little Brother, he was my best friend

Rob was the toughest guy I know with the biggest heart

here are a couple examples of his toughness

on my seventh birthday, we lived on Beachview drive, I got a new bike with shocks on it, I wanted to test the shocks out so Rob lied on the groud and let me ride over him like a speed bump, he laughed as I did this, I feel bad about this now but at the time he seemed to enjoy it.

When we lived on Panorama Drive I was 12 and he was 9, we both got boxing gloves for christmas, some of you might not know this but Rob and I liked to fight, and that boy could take a punch, I would put my arm out with the glove on his head and he would swing at air as fast and hard as he could, every once in a while I would let him land one and then I would return the favor with a blow to the head knocking him on the floor, he would jump right back up laughing and calling me a sissy and that I punch like a girl. Man I miss those days

or the time he rode his tricycle down the 100 stairs at Panorama drive

the time he tried walking over the bonfire on carol ship night

we all know how tough he was, unfortunaley he was dealt a blow that he could not get up from and I am having a hard time accepting and believing this.

most of you have seen how big of a heart Rob had as well, He was always willing to go above and beyond for the ones he loved, he was the only one of us kids to step up and take care of our mom and dad full time when our dad suffered a stroke ....and after the passing of my sister Penny, he is my hero for doing this as Kristy and I lived hundreds of miles away.

For the last 8 months Rob has helped me get through a very tough seperation, as I am on a disability and unable to drive ,Rob took me where ever i needed to go no questions asked

I am sure you all have more stories of my brothers strength and his big heart and I look forward to hearing each and every one of them if you want to share

I know Robert would be in awe of how many people loved him and have come here today to show it....I love you brother and you will always be on my mind

once again thank you all for coming to celabrate Roberts life today

please raise your glass if you have been touched by Robert's big heart

thank you

That was a beautiful tribute ND, I'm sure there wasn't a dry eye in the place. Peace be with everyone.
