Thread: Yellowstone - Massive Crack Opens Up South of Park (Page 2)

A highly popular area near Jenny Lake in Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming has been closed to the public for the immediate future due to concerns over expanding cracks and fissures in a large rock formation, park officials said Tuesday evening.

The National Park Service implemented an emergency closure in the Hidden Falls and Inspiration Point areas on the west side of Jenny Lake for human safety. Some recently expanding cracks and fissures have been identified in a large rock buttress above the Hidden Falls viewing area, a park release said.

And a shout out to Mini. Of course it sucks to be in braces during the summer, but you know, people can run faster than Usain Bolt and still not reach the finish line faster. Sometimes slowing down makes you see and realize more and makes you a winner in the end. It reminded me of the Fable of the Hare and the Turtle.

I am so glad to hear that Mini's surgery went well and I am so sorry that she will be laid up for so long.

I will never understand how a father can do that to his child....they always see through it. I was/am (they are all grown now) the father figure to my sister's children because their father acted in much the same way as Mini's father. He only ever showed up when it made him feel good...whatta shithead! Mean, old uncle Splinter treated them like his own..sometimes they liked it and sometimes they didn't..lol.

I musta done something right because they all stop in or call me at least once a week.

I am sorry that you and Mini have to deal with that, but like I said...he'll get no points with the kid...they always see through that shit.

You and Mini will continue to be in my prayers.

The poor kiddo was swimming all day every day since school ended. No more swimming this summer. : (

The good thing is that we're going to Florida in September and her brace will be off by then so she can go swimming then.

I'll never understand it either. Good for you for fulfilling the role of your nieces/nephews father. I don't doubt for a second that they were better off for having you there. I love that they visit/call you weekly. : )

Mini sees through it. Sometimes she posts things on FB that make it very known that she sees through it. She's friends with her father's mom and brothers on FB too so they see it as well. Makes me sad. For her. His loss big time.
