Dang MoN, I feel for you. I don't get why employers don't understand this leads to burnout so quickly. You have to treat people better than that if you want to keep them. They haven't figured that out yet either, it appears.

Do what you can to take care of yourself in your off time. Wish I had more advice than that.

In regards to that San Fran-area quake I just posted. Lots of reports on twitter:

@marinmaven

I am where the arrow is and the star is the epicenter of a 3.9 earthquake. It was quick, strong, loud jolt. Nothing is broken.

Testimonies thus far from the Cali quake.

[link to www.emsc-csem.org (secure)]

Some samples:

"Very quick, but powerful jolt. Felt by all of those around me."

"It sounded like something dropped on our roof twice"

"it felt like a wave passed through me. quite startling"

"It sounded like something dropped on our roof twice"

"Just one sharp jolt. Heard something right before but not sounds described above. More of a whooshing instead of a roaring. "

Sure was a noisy quake for a 3.7. I hope to heaven this isn't a foreshock.

I filtered through this quickly and focused mostly on the U.S. (sorry, egocentric of me). Assuming most don't have the time to go through it, here are some highlights (this video was made last night and covers the upcoming week):

-Expect a 5.5 in southern Mexico
-Expect a 5.4 in Nicaragua
-There has been significant increase in activity on the W. Coast, yet little to nothing in the midwest. Pressure is building up. Therefore, expect bigger land movement this week
-Called for a upper 4 to 5.0 in the San Fran area (and his cursor went almost right to where the 3.6 hit earlier)
-As we see more movement on the northern W. Coast, look for a 4.3-4.5 in Southern Cali.
-He noted a lack of quakes NW of Vancouver area, considering all the other activity off the W. Coast and Alaska
-Once we see the additional expected movement in Cali, it will gravitate to the midwest. He expects a 4.7-5.0 in Oklahoma

I know! I've never listened through a whole video of his, unless it's a random shorter one. I usually look at the comments to see what time spots to go to for certain areas. Then I fast forward through those to the the pertinent info. For god's sake, we don't need to see every dang set of coordinates pulled up! We don't need a zoom in of the fracking operations!

Point being, there's no reason a bunch of us need to suffer through all that just to get to the crux. One of us is plenty. If it's me, then I will share what I find out.
