I've started a little fitness experiment. I'm going to do planks. Started Saturday with two 30 second planks in the evening. All I could hold was 30 seconds! Next day, could feel muscles in my core were sore (good sign). Have done two 1 minute planks Sunday and today. One in the early part of the day and one in the evening. Next week I'll try holding for 1 1/2 minutes two times a day. Then 2 minutes, then add side planks etc. I'll post progress randomly.

It seems like a simple, effective way to build core strength and tone couple areas that need it. If anyone would like to join me feel free.

Also, feeling a little better today. I feel like today my gut is winning.

Isis, if you are just starting to do planks and can already do a full 30 seconds (2 rounds at that), then that's great! Most people have to build up to 30 seconds. Takes a lot of core strength. Good job!

Hopefully relief is coming to you soon. We had the same weather late last week & weekend, but today we've had storms off/on and although humid like a greenhouse, it cooled off into the low 80's. I believe we are expecting around mid 80's most of the rest of the week. Hoping this will drift your way in the next 24 hours or so.
 Quoting: KickinIt

We've had more humid days than not this summer. Plus higher than normal temps. I'll have to check, but I know we were possibly going to break a heat record here today from 1924. And the news is saying that tomorrow will be even more humid. It's so gross. The office is just gross. You can SMELL the humidity. At least I can. I had the thermostat turned down as low as it would go and it was still 75 degrees in there. My personal office was probably 80+. I even wore a dress today! Unheard of these days at work lol.

We've had an air quality alert since yesterday morning that is supposed to end at 11pm tonight somehow. Dew point right now is 72 with a heat index of 88 degrees. Problem is, most of the thunderstorms and even rain miss my area. I swear there's some sort of force field around my immediate area that repels thunderstorms!

Yep, high humidity is definitely gross. It's here like that much of the summer. We have breaks here and there, but overall it's humid and nasty and if it's hot enough, the air will feel thick. If we had dry air here I might not mind summer so much.

Elderly men escape nursing home to go to Wacken metal festival

A German nursing home alerted police after they noticed two men were missing. They were later found at 3 a.m. at the Wacken Open Air metal festival.

The men were reluctant to leave the four-day festival so police escorted them home with the help of a taxi and a patrol car.

"They obviously liked the metal festival," police spokeswoman Merle Neufeld told public broadcaster Norddeutscher Rundfunk.

It's shitty hot & humid here too. I absolutely hate it. My blood issues make hot weather more than miserable. It's the strangest damn thing and hardest to explain to others (so I'm not gonna go into details), but had to mention because the heat here, in Northern Massachusetts, is truly something else this year.

Get some sleep my friend. Rest. Maybe drink some ice water first.
